Locals Scrutinize Pickup Truck License Plates at Wat Sawang Ceremony for 1/4/26 Lottery

Locals with sharp eyes did not miss checking the pickup truck license plates during the sacred stone receiving ceremony at the gold leaf covering event at Wat Sawang in Nakhon Pathom, hoping to find lucky numbers for the lottery draw on 1 April 2026, according to local beliefs.

On 23 March 2026 at Wat Sawang Arom, Khae Thao, Khun Kaeo Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, reporters observed that several impoverished temples in remote areas gradually traveled to receive sacred stones as part of the gold leaf covering event for 9 temples with 99 stones, totaling 5 temples so far. Today, Wat Pa Sam Khat On Kaew from Non Kho Subdistrict, Non Khun District, Sisaket Province, led by Abbot Phra Athikan Saksri Thitaviriya, brought a team of temple committee members and villagers to receive the sacred stones early in the morning.

Afterwards, Phra Khru Phisit Sorakarn, abbot, along with the committee and villagers from Wat Hua Wa Samakkhi, Wang Wa Subdistrict, Sri Maha Phot District, Prachinburi Province, also arrived to receive the sacred stones.

Before representatives from both temples departed, Luang Por Pae, a renowned monk and abbot of Wat Sawang Arom, presented donation boxes filled with gold leaf offerings from devotees, along with a personal cash donation of 20,000 baht per temple, sacred objects, and protective cloth amulets.

Phra Athikan Saksri, abbot of Wat Pa Sam Khat On Kaew in Sisaket, revealed that Luang Por Pae generously organized the gold leaf covering for the sacred stones and donated items for the temple to display for devotees to continue their offerings. He plans to hold a Kathin robe offering event at the temple to fund the construction of a principal Buddha image to be enshrined in the pavilion, as the temple currently lacks a large Buddha image. After completion, the temple will build an ordination hall and hold another gold leaf covering ceremony on 11-12 April 2026.

At Wat Hua Wa Samakkhi in Prachinburi, it was disclosed that after bringing the sacred stones back, they will organize a gold leaf covering event at the temple to raise funds to complete the ordination hall currently under construction. The gold leaf covering ceremony will take place from 4 to 6 April 2026.

Meanwhile, devotees who learned of the news eagerly checked the license plate numbers of the vehicles that transported the sacred stones, namely 7791 and 4964, intending to use these numbers for lottery betting in the draw on 1 April 2026, in line with their beliefs.
