A woman won a large lottery prize in the hundreds of thousands and returned to pay respects to the Wealthy Child Spirit at the Ruesi Nen Hermitage for the second time, drawing "lucky numbers" with ping pong balls for the 16 April 2026 lottery.
A reporter described the atmosphere at the Ruesi Nen Hermitage in Potang Subdistrict, Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Despite rising fuel prices, many devotees still traveled to pay homage and seek blessings from sacred figures including the great Ruesi Phrommas, the Wealthy Child Spirit, the nine-faced Thao Wessuwan, Phra Sangkachai, and Luang Pho Mee at the Chindamani Cave which houses sacred relics and the Monkey Spirit. Many brought offerings such as pumpkins, rice, and fruit to honor Ruesi Phrommas, while others offered red syrup, snacks, and toys to the Wealthy Child Spirit. Participants also took part in ceremonies offering rice, lifting the Father Elder statue, draping the tiger cloth on Ruesi Phrommas, and received blessings from Master Ruesi Nen with sacred incantations to invoke prosperity and good fortune.
Upon inquiry, Ms. Supitchaya, aged 32, who brought red syrup, snacks, fresh red garlands, and a large electric remote-controlled car for children as offerings to the Wealthy Child Spirit, shared that she has visited twice to seek luck from the spirit. She has been fortunate both times, with the latest win reaching hundreds of thousands, which truly came true. Today, she came to fulfill her vow by offering garlands, red syrup, and snacks. The car was not part of a vow but was given as an additional gift due to her good fortune. She added that if she visits again, she plans to offer two cars.
Before leaving, Ms. Supitchaya drew ping pong balls bearing the Wealthy Child Spirit's auspicious numbers to use for the lottery, drawing the number 376.
