An auspicious time for the ritual ceremony "Phaya Chaisunthorn" the first city lord of Kalasin, while lottery enthusiasts did not miss the chance to spot "lucky numbers" from the holy water bowl to try their luck on 2 May 2026
At 08:52 on 19 April 2026 GMT+7, a reporter reported that at Kaeng Don Klang area, Kalasin municipality, Mr. Wirat Pimpanit, MP for Kalasin District 1, presided over the incense and candle lighting ceremony honoring Phaya Chaisunthorn (Thao Sompamitr), the first city lord of Kalasin (the Kaeng Don Klang figure), for good fortune and to express gratitude to ancestors. Attending were Mrs. Jarunee Pimpanit from Nakhon Phanom, former chairman of the Kalasin Provincial Administrative Organization Council; Mr. Nattawat Pimpanit, MP for Kalasin District 4; Mr. Plakorn Pimpanit, MP for Kalasin District 2; and Mr. Keeratikarn Pimpanit, mayor of Kalasin city.
After the Brahmin led everyone through the ritual with firm dedication and pure faith, numbers appeared clearly in the holy water bowl: 5, 3, and 2. This caused great excitement among attendees, many believing that the spirit granted them luck.
After the ceremony, there was a water-pouring blessing activity for elders to conclude the recently passed Songkran festival. This event was a way to preserve Thai customs, culture, and traditions, while also fostering stronger love and unity among the community.
