On 8 May 26, reporters reported that behind a house in Ang Thong Province, gamblers performed a ritual to obtain lucky numbers from the Phaya Bung mound according to their belief. They prepared three sets of papers numbered 0-9 and dropped them into the Phaya Bung mound holes, allowing the Phaya Bung to pick numbers and place them at the hole's entrance as a form of divination. The Phaya Bung picked three numbers—529—which were then used by gamblers to try their luck in the 16/5/26 lottery draw.
