On 10 May 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that at Wat Klang Bang Phra, Bang Phra Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, the atmosphere was lively yesterday morning (9 May). People came to pay respects to Luang Pho Somwang, Thao Wessuwan, and the preserved body of Luang Pho Phut, a famous former monk and ex-abbot whose body has not decomposed. The temple placed his body in a glass coffin in the Luang Pho Phut pavilion for devotees to worship, seek blessings, and ask for good fortune.
Regarding the vow fulfillment, "Luang Pho Somwang" who grants luck, whether it involves land sales, promotions, or lottery winnings, people bring offerings to fulfill their vows daily. Large vow fulfillment ceremonies involve Brahmins conducting rituals, while smaller ones have signs explaining the proper procedures to succeed.
The offerings brought for vow fulfillment are arranged on trays placed in front of Luang Pho Somwang’s pavilion. Incense sticks are lit and placed with the offerings before starting the ceremony by striking the victory gong three times to announce the vow fulfillment. Afterwards, participants approach Luang Pho Somwang’s statue to pray and place gold leaf on the statue’s right hand, completing the ritual.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sarawut Phumchampa, 45, from Noen Kham District, Chainat Province, one of the vow fulfillers, arrived carrying 999 chicken eggs, a pair of large clay chickens, and three garlands. He placed these offerings at the wide plaza of Luang Pho Somwang, then went to the outdoor blessing spot, followed by paying respects and placing gold leaf on the statue’s right hand.
After completing the ritual, he revealed that he traveled from Chainat to fulfill his vow. Around February 2026, he came to pray and placed the land title deed under a replica of Luang Pho Somwang’s base, praying to sell one rai of land in Chainat. The land was an old inherited property that had been on the market for many years without any buyers.
He invited his wife to join in praying to Luang Pho Somwang, sincerely wishing to sell the land, promising to bring 999 chicken eggs, one pair of clay chickens, and three garlands to fulfill the vow. After two months, a buyer appeared, and he made a good profit, so he came to fulfill the vow as promised.
Mr. Sarawut added that he felt especially happy and relieved today after fulfilling the vow. His wife noticed his bright and cheerful appearance, different from before, and encouraged him to ask Luang Pho Somwang for lottery luck, hoping for a big win. He prayed for great fortune and promised to bring a pig’s head, eggs, and drinking water for a vow fulfillment if he wins next time. Then, he lifted a basket above his head and drew three eggs, revealing the numbers 1, 6, and 7. He believes these are auspicious numbers and plans to use them for lottery betting. If he wins, he will definitely return to make merit again.
