On 10 May 2026 GMT+7, reporters described the atmosphere at Wat Koh Ked Nok, Mueang District, Prachinburi Province, where thousands of spiritual devotees traveled to participate in a holy water blessing ritual led by Phra Kru Siripipat Panyasiri, the abbot of Wat Koh Ked Nok. The ceremony aimed to enhance fortune, support wealth, and dispel misfortune. The temple prepared holy water mixed with various auspicious herbs according to traditional recipes to bless the attendees, who numbered over 1,000. Of these, 865 people took part in the actual water blessing, while others requested to take the holy water home because they were unprepared and had not brought a change of clothes.
After the invited monks began chanting Buddhist scriptures, Abbot Phra Kru Siripipat announced he was looking for the participant holding queue number 139 to light incense and candles in worship of the Buddha, which surprised those present. Then the monks chanted while the abbot prepared the holy water by dripping candle wax tears into 10 large pots of holy water plus 5 large basins, totaling over 10,000 liters. The abbot then conducted the water blessing for participants, ten at a time, in queue order until all 865 people were blessed.
After the blessing, participants discussed why the abbot specifically called for the person with queue number 139, wondering if it was a sign or hint of luck. They decided to use the number 139 along with the total number of participants, 865, as additional "lucky numbers" to try their fortune in the May 16, 2026 lottery draw.
