A female sales agent organized traditional dancers to fulfill a vow. to "Phra Rahu" at Si Rat Thong Temple in Nakhon Pathom. She obtained "lucky numbers" for this lottery. from the serial number of a banknote to try luck in the 16/5/26 draw.
Reporters stated that at Si Rat Thong Temple, Si Rat Thong Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, which houses the large Phra Rahu Amjan statue—the original Phra Rahu Amjan—in an octagonal pavilion, many people brought eight black offerings such as ginseng chicken extract, black liquor, black coffee, honey, black beans, black sticky rice, black desserts, and century eggs arranged on trays along with black incense sticks and black roses to present and pray for blessings. Afterwards, they gilded the Phra Rahu statue with gold leaf, and some also brought traditional dancers to perform as a vow fulfillment.
Ms. Thidarat, 35, an insurance sales agent at a company, revealed that she traveled today from her home near Siriraj, Bangkok. Each month, she comes to pray to Phra Rahu and offers traditional dancers as a vow fulfillment because she promised that if her sales targets were met, she would bring dancers to pay respect. Her sales target was indeed achieved. Although she is not very superstitious about the unseen, she believes sacred powers exist alongside personal effort. Today, she succeeded in exceeding her insurance sales target and vowed that if next month's sales are good, she will again offer traditional dancers to Phra Rahu.
Before leaving, she donated a 100-baht banknote with the serial number 5 D 0 1 6 4 9 4 8, believing it to be an auspicious number and plans to use it to try her luck in the lottery.
Additional reports state that Si Rat Thong Temple is renowned for its Phra Rahu statue, being the original created by the famous monk Luang Pho Noi. It is considered the first and largest Phra Rahu statue, and Luang Pho Noi, the former abbot, was also the pioneer of the sacred one-eyed coconut shell amulet. Worshiping Phra Rahu is believed to avert misfortune, improve fate, enhance prestige, and bring peace, happiness, luck, and career prosperity.
