A female DJ from Ubon Ratchathani sought fortune from Grandpa Mujalin and the Takian Goddess at Wat Phu Ta Phao Thong, experiencing goosebumps when the auspicious incense numbers matched those drawn from a jar.
On 8 June 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that on 7 June at Wat Phu Ta Phao Thong in Kud Mak Fai Subdistrict, Nong Wua So District, Udon Thani Province, Buddhists and tourists gradually arrived to make merit, pay respects, and pray continuously for work, luck, and lucky numbers.
They began by performing rituals to avert misfortune at the Golden Junk Rock, praying for luck, love, work, and prosperous trade. They then paid respects to Phor Pu Ariyasap, Jade Rock Grandpa, Grandpa Mujalin Naga, and the millennium-old twin Takian stumps, the Golden Takian Goddess and Thip, who have granted fortune to countless believers and devotees.
Among them was Ms. Buakaew Chamni, also known as DJ Buakaew Sribubon, 40, herbal center manager from Udon Thani. Believing in the Naga serpent and supernatural phenomena, she brought four female staff by private car from downtown Udon Thani to make merit, pray for luck, work, and especially to request lucky numbers for the 16 June 2026 draw. She prayed and lit incense sticks for divination at Grandpa Mujalin Naga, revealing the number 272.
Afterwards, they whispered into the ear of the Golden Takian Goddess and Thip statue to let her know, following their belief. They vowed that if they won a 3-digit prize, they would come back to make merit, help build a floating ubosot, and offer Thai traditional costumes to the Takian Goddess. They then sat and prayed, drawing a lucky number from the jar in front of the goddess, receiving 279, which gave them goosebumps all around.
Because the incense number from Grandpa Mujalin was 272, it seemed both Grandpa Mujalin and the Golden Takian Goddess and Thip acknowledged DJ Buakaew's sincere prayers, inspiring matching numbers 72 and 27 from both sources. These numbers were already favorites of DJ Buakaew for this draw. Earlier that day, the auspicious day of head shaving, she had lit incense to seek lucky numbers from the Earth Goddess in front of her home in downtown Udon Thani, receiving 079. This made her and her staff smile in anticipation of luck in the upcoming lottery.
DJ Buakaew Sribubon revealed that she works as a radio DJ and manages the Awchok Herbal Center in Udon Thani. This was her first time paying respects at the sacred Wat Phu Ta Phao Thong since living in Udon Thani for about 10 years. Having heard only of its reputation before, she took advantage of a day off to bring four female staff to seek luck and lucky numbers. She felt deeply impressed, as she personally believes in the Naga and the supernatural. She described feeling goosebumps after receiving the 272 incense number from Grandpa Mujalin and the 279 jar number from the Golden Takian Goddess and Thip.
That morning, she lit incense to request lucky numbers from the Earth Goddess in front of her home, receiving 079, a number she likes very much. At Wat Phu Ta Phao Thong, she also received 79. She said that anyone wishing to try their luck is welcome, with no restrictions. If fortunate, they are invited to join in building the floating ubosot at Wat Phu Ta Phao Thong, continuing the legacy left by ancestors for future generations to honor. For her group, winning a 3-digit prize in any draw would be wonderful, and from now on, they are committed to making merit regularly at this temple.
