Factory worker returns to repay a vow "Ta Thong Ngiu Rai" at Wat Sawang Arom after having won the lottery three times, confident "lucky numbers this draw" will bring fortune once again
Reporters said the atmosphere at Wat Sawang Arom, Kae Tao, Khun Kaeo Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, was busy with many visitors coming to pay respect to the sacred objects within the temple and making merit by offering Sangha donations for good fortune. Besides making merit, devotees also stopped to ask for luck from the temple's sacred items.
Especially around the statue of Ta Thong Ngiu Rai, which is very popular among lottery enthusiasts due to its consistent luck. Ms. Siriwan Phongphichit, 42, traveled from Bangkok with her husband to make merit with Ta Thong Ngiu Rai, offering a white cloth, a hat, glasses, and tobacco.
She then lit incense to inform and ask for luck from Ta Thong Ngiu Rai before drawing three eggs showing the numbers 354 and 381. She also told her husband to look at the wax tears in the holy water basin beside it, taking photos with his phone to analyze the numbers at home.
Ms. Siriwan said that she and her husband work at a factory in the Krathum Baen area. Since the factory was closed for several days, they took the opportunity to come to Wat Sawang Arom to pay respects to the sacred objects and ask Ta Thong Ngiu Rai for luck. Given the current poor economy, they need money for family expenses and to pay for their child's education, so they came to seek fortune during their break.
She added that she had visited this temple and asked for luck from Ta Thong Ngiu Rai three times before, never being disappointed as Ta Thong granted her luck each time. This time, she invited her husband to make merit and offer gifts to Ta Thong Ngiu Rai. Each time, she draws eggs and observes the wax tears in the holy water basin to get numbers for buying lottery tickets. This draw, she got 354 from the eggs and saw the numbers 8, 9, 2, 0, and 7 in the basin. She plans to buy lottery tickets with these numbers and, if she wins a big prize, will bring more offerings to Ta Thong Ngiu Rai, confident that he will grant luck again.
