Lottery enthusiasts celebrated winning over 21 tickets with the last two digits '69,' receiving total prize money exceeding 50,000 baht after buying the number following a post by Phra Khru Ae, a renowned monk from Don Thong Temple, Chonburi. Many devotees flocked to the temple to make merit.
On 2 August 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted a lively atmosphere at Don Thong Temple in Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province, after the 1 August 2026 GMT+7 government lottery results showed the last two digits as 69. This matched the number on a ping pong ball placed at the feet of the statue of Phor Pu Thao Wessuwan inside the temple. The image was shared on the Facebook page of Phra Khru Sangharak Chalermrit Kunesko, known as Phra Khru Ae, a famous spiritual monk in Chonburi, who posted, "Whoever hid this, please keep it safe," alongside a photo of the ping pong ball numbered 469 placed at the silver feet of Phor Pu Thao Wessuwan in front of the pavilion.
The photo quickly gained widespread attention online, with many commenting and interpreting the number as a lucky lottery figure, leading to a surge in ticket purchases. When the lottery results came out with the last two digits 69, many posted congratulations for winning with the number from the photo. Numerous winners of the two-digit number returned to the temple to make merit and fulfill vows continuously.
One of the winners, Ms. Naphat Chayatheerad, 35, owner of King Service by Naphat Co., Ltd., brought offerings to present to Phra Khru Ae and showed lottery win evidence from the 'Pao Tang' app to reporters. She said she bought 20 tickets with the last two digits 69 via the Pao Tang app and one physical ticket, totaling 21 tickets after seeing Phra Khru Ae’s ping pong ball post.
She further revealed that she regularly visits the temple to receive blessings for her face and hands and to enhance her luck. Although she had not won the lottery before, she experienced career success, progressing from a freelance worker to establishing her own company.
Upon seeing Phra Khru Ae’s ping pong ball photo numbered 469, she decided to buy tickets ending with 69 based on her intuition. She then won the two-digit prize on all 21 tickets, receiving over 50,000 baht, marking her first-ever lottery win and the largest amount she has ever received.
Filled with joy and faith in the sacred, Ms. Naphat returned to the temple to make merit, offer Sangha Dana, and participate in face and hand blessing ceremonies for good fortune. She intends to continue making merit and seeking blessings for progress in life and work.
Meanwhile, villagers visiting the temple agreed that coming to the temple is for making merit, strengthening morale, and spiritual support. Regarding luck, they said it is a personal belief and advised people to use discretion when gambling and not to invest beyond their means.
