A lottery vendor brought squishies as an offering to “Ai Somchun” at Thong Sawoei Temple in Chainat Province and did not miss the chance to draw a lucky number from a jar to try winning again.
On 16 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Rojarin Kasemsri, 28, a government lottery vendor in Chainat Province, visited the Ai Somchun pavilion at Thong Sawoei Temple, Nong Noi Subdistrict, Wat Sing District, Chainat, carrying a tray of over 20 popular squishy toys to offer after winning a prize that cleared her debts.
The lucky number came from the firecracker ends of Ms. Tatsanee Tangthongkam, 48, from Phichit, who came to offer thanks to Ai Somchun after winning five consecutive draws. Many social media users also won with numbers from firecracker ends, causing a buzz online, and locals near the temple have been winning prizes as well.
She then did not miss the chance to perform the ritual of drawing a number from the jar, obtaining 308. Lottery enthusiasts and worshippers whispered their wishes and eagerly took photos with their phones to buy tickets.
Ms. Tatsanee Tangthongkam said that in the previous draw, she bought different numbers from Ai Somchun but did not win. However, friends and others in the province and on social media won big. She happened to be passing by and stopped to pray and ask for blessings again, hoping to get numbers to try her luck and share the excitement with others who follow her.
Today's offerings came from donations sent to the temple to join her in making the merit offering. She hopes everyone will be lucky this draw, but ultimately it depends on fate—whether one wins big, small, or not at all is up to individual fortune.
