Villagers Flock to Spot Firecracker Numbers at Phor Poo Saen Tong Naga Worship Ceremony, Hoping for Luck Again

Villagers flocked to examine the firecracker tail numbers at the 'Phor Poo Saen Tong' Naga worship ceremony after the previous lottery draw brought luck to nearly the entire village. They were not disappointed and got 'lucky numbers' to try their luck again for the 1 Sep 2026 draw.

At 09:30 on 28 Aug 2026, villagers of Ban Tonimit, Rongkat Subdistrict, Suang Men District, Phrae Province, led by Mr. Amarin Kaewma, 70, a retired civil servant and former village headman of Village 8 Ban Tonimit, jointly held a worship ceremony for the Naga deity 'Phor Poo Saen Tong' at the Saen Tong Water Cave in front of Wat Phra Phutthamongkhon, Village 8, Rongkat Subdistrict, Suang Men District, Phrae Province. This followed their joint efforts to develop the ancient sacred water source at the temple into a public park and place of faith—from a water hole into the current Saen Tong Water Cave.

Today’s event was the second worship ceremony after the first was held on 13 Aug. At that time, firecrackers were lit to seek luck, resulting in villagers winning prizes on the last two digits, 53, in the previous lottery draw.

Today's ceremony attracted many devout villagers who filled the temple front, bringing various fruits and 99 boiled eggs as offerings before lighting firecrackers. After the firecrackers exploded, villagers rushed to check the tail numbers, finding 834 and 69. They hope to use these numbers to buy lottery tickets, believing they will bring luck again as in the last draw.
