At Wat Sawang Arom in Nakhon Pathom Province, artists gathered to mourn the 2nd anniversary of “Ploen Promdan's” passing. During a concert by “Jomkwan Kalaya,” she took the opportunity to share “lucky numbers” with fans for the September 16, 2026 lottery draw.
Reporters noted that at Wat Sawang Arom, Khaekhaew, Khun Kaeo Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, yesterday (5 Sept), numerous famous country singers, both past and present, came together to pay tribute to the late country artist “Ploen Promdan,” a renowned spoken-word singer, on the 2nd anniversary of his death. They also united to hold a free concert for locals and attendees in mourning, including artists such as Tosaporn Himapan and Jomkwan Kalaya.
Upon arriving at the temple, Jomkwan Kalaya, known for the hit song “Promise with the Heart” among others, paid respects to Luang Pho Pae, a famous monk and abbot. She requested Luang Pho Pae to inscribe a yantra tattoo on the back of her hand and drip candle wax for added auspiciousness, seeking continuous career success throughout the year. Luang Pho Pae completed the ritual before the singer proceeded to pay homage to the large Phra Ngern Phra Thong statues in the sermon hall, offering incense, candles, and flowers, praying for blessings and luck while also applying gold leaf to the statues.
Before leaving the sermon hall, fans requested Jomkwan Kalaya to draw lottery numbers from a basket to share luck with them. She willingly knelt in prayer, lifted the basket, and prayed for lucky numbers for all fans. She then drew three ping pong balls numbered 6, 8, and 3, showing them to fans for photos, wishing all her listeners wealth. She also said she personally planned to use these numbers for her own lottery ticket and promised if she won a big prize, she would return to hold a free concert.
Jomkwan Kalaya shared that she came to pay respects to the 'song general' or father figure Ploen Promdan on the 2nd anniversary of his passing. While he was alive, she regarded him as a father, frequently consulting him when facing difficulties in her work or singing. He was like a master teacher to her. She did not miss the chance to join in remembrance and sought blessings from Luang Pho Pae for continuous work and success throughout the year. She also paid respects to the Phra Ngern Phra Thong statues she deeply reveres and drew lucky numbers to share with fans.
