In the final stretch before this afternoon's lottery draw, fortune seekers gathered energetically to perform the ritual honoring the “Three Takian Sisters.” A vibrant parade expressing thanks was held, and attendees eagerly found “lucky numbers” for the 16/10/26 draw.
Late at night on 15 Oct 2026, reporters visited Wat Pa Thamwongsaram in Ban Samrong, Village No. 10, Khaen Subdistrict, Sonom District, Surin Province, where many locals and fortune seekers arrived enthusiastically to join the ritual honoring the “Three Takian Sisters.” They brought parade vehicles to make offerings of thanks, adding lively color to the event.
At the event, Phra Kru Sorkan (Phra Ajarn Baiboon) led the monks in chanting the Takhsin Anupatham merit-making service dedicated to King Rama IX and the Queen Mother. They also offered robes and monetary donations before conducting the traditional ritual honoring the spirits.
Mr. Somsak Trakulsuk, the Brahmin priest conducting the ritual, said that since the three Takian trees were enshrined at the temple, visitors have continuously come to pay respects and seek luck according to belief, especially on Saturdays and Sundays when crowds grow large. Previously, male singers performed during the rituals, but a belief arose that the spirit of the Takian trees appeared in dreams requesting female singers. Therefore, he consulted with Phra Ajarn Baiboon to arrange for female vocalists to participate this time.
For this thank-you parade, female singers Baitoey Orpreecha and Tan Patsakorn, along with the parade crew, helped create a joyful atmosphere for those attending the ritual.
A highlight capturing the fortune seekers’ attention was the number divination: Baitoey drew ping pong balls revealing the number 519, while singer Tan Patsakorn lit incense sticks that showed the number 773. Attendees eagerly photographed these numbers, many considering them attractive options for their lottery picks on 16 October 2026, based on personal belief.
