A new millionaire in Khok Samrong, Lopburi province, casually won 12 million baht. She had been buying lottery tickets based on vehicle registration numbers but this time, without the exact number available, she chose the lucky number 781 instead and ended up winning two first-prize tickets.
At 17:00 on 16 October 2026, Ms. Angsada Mancharoen, 36, from Village 4, Khok Samrong Subdistrict, Khok Samrong District, Lopburi province, went to Khok Samrong Police Station to meet Lt. Col. Phusit Muangmu, an investigating officer. She reported to register her two first-prize lottery tickets, numbers 011781, sets 06 and 07, totaling 12 million baht, as official evidence.
Ms. Angsada said she bought the lottery tickets online from a younger sibling who works at a department store in Khok Samrong about three days earlier. On 15 October around 7 p.m., the seller delivered the tickets to her home after she had transferred the money. She only knew the last three digits were 781 but not the front digits. Upon checking the results, she realized she had won two first-prize tickets, each costing 100 baht, so she went to record them officially as proof.
She intends to use the prize money to fund her two daughters' education — the eldest is a fourth grader and the younger is in kindergarten. The remainder will be invested in a personal business; currently, her husband raises fighting chickens, and they plan to use the funds to expand that venture.
She expressed great happiness and explained that the lucky number came from buying a four-door pickup truck with a transferred registration plate in Lopburi about four to five months ago. She had been consistently buying tickets ending with 871, sometimes winning two-digit prizes. This time, her vehicle's registration ends with 7871, but the tickets available from the seller did not have 7871, only those ending in 781. She chose to buy those because they contained the digits seven, eight, and one, matching her usual pattern.
