Villagers searching for mushrooms found a strange termite mound near “E Jia Cave” resembling two nagas facing back to back. While lighting incense to pray according to local belief, they discovered a giant king cobra shed nearby. They promptly noted lucky numbers to try their luck in the 1 Nov 2026 lottery draw.
On 29 Oct 2026, reporters reported that villagers from Ban Sub Tao, Udomsub Subdistrict, Wang Nam Khiao District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, who went mushroom hunting near “E Jia Cave” (a local term meaning "bat"), found a large sandstone rock shelter with a deep hollow reaching 4–5 meters inside. Above it, water seeps and flows down a cliff about 5 meters high, forming a small natural waterfall surrounded by rich vegetation in late rainy season. They noticed a large termite mound under the rock shelter, providing shelter from sun and rain, with a striking shape: a pointed curved top resembling two nagas facing back to back.
The villagers respectfully lit incense to ask for forgiveness and blessings according to their beliefs. They then found large king cobra shed skins scattered on the ground beside the termite mound. Each scale was nearly the size of a pinky finger, and the belly scales formed large layers about the size of an index finger, indicating the giant size of the king cobra that had shed its skin there. This reinforced local beliefs about the naga followers and the sacredness of this forest area. Lottery seekers quickly lit incense sticks to ask for lucky numbers, clearly seeing the number 00. The last digit was unclear, so locals took photos to interpret the numbers for the upcoming 1 Nov lottery draw.
Interviewed, Mr. Tawirat Jansangsai, a resident of Ban Sub Tao, said that local villagers traditionally call this rock shelter “E Jia Cave” because it is a sandstone cave densely inhabited by bats, though some call it “Cat Channel Cave.” This place is known only to locals as it is hidden deep within the forest. During the rainy season or after continuous heavy rain, the stream above overflows and cascades down the cliff, creating a temporary waterfall that is beautiful but only visible for a short time each year. Thus, outsiders rarely know of it until recently when villagers discovered the naga-shaped termite mound and the giant snake shed nearby.
