Inside the Empire of “Please-Woraponit” Heir of the Prosperous Ruayrungroeng Family, Owner of the 50 Billion Baht Reignwood Park

The name of “Please-Woraponit Ruayrungroeng,” CEO of Reignwood Group, has once again attracted attention in business news following reports that Reignwood Holding Company Limited filed a civil lawsuit against Vatanika Group Company Limited, owned by Phrae-Watanika Patmasingh Na Ayutthaya, founder of the famous fashion brand VATANIKA, at the Civil Court on 9 July 2026, for breach of contract, seeking damages totaling over 21 million baht.

However, the case is still under court consideration, while the side ofVatanika Groupissued a statement denying the breach of contract allegations as "without merit" and assigned lawyers to proceed in court, also claiming damages from the opposing party.

This incident originated from activities aboard the yacht “SEA BEAR,” which is part of the luxury experience offered by the Reignwood Group. The yacht was used as a venue for events and to provide a sea leisure experience for VVIP guests before a dispute arose over contract terms, leading to the subsequent lawsuit.

SEA BEAR is only one component of Reignwood’s luxury lifestyle business, which is developing Reignwood Park, a world-class mega project in Pathum Thani, attracting growing interest in what business group lies behind this luxury yacht and how extensive the Reignwood Group’s empire really is.

The Ruayrungroeng Family and Reignwood Group

Reignwood Group was established in 1984 by Dr. Chanchai Ruayrungroeng, also known as Yen Pin, father of Woraponit. He is a prominent Chinese businessman known for cross-border investments spanning consumer goods, real estate, golf courses, hotels, aviation, and related investment businesses.

One of Chanchai’s internationally recognized ventures was investing in Red Bull’s beverage business in China, as well as the premium bottled water brand VOSS. Additionally, Reignwood expanded its portfolio into luxury lifestyle assets, including the historic Wentworth Club golf course in the UK, acquired in 2014 and further developed into sports and lifestyle businesses.

Today, Reignwood Group stands as a major conglomerate investing in multiple countries. According to Reignwood Park’s website, the group now operates over 100 companies and branches across Asia, Europe, and North America, with businesses beyond just real estate.

  • FMCG: Consumer goods and beverages, with globally recognized brands such as VOSS premium mineral water and Red Bull in China.
  • Real Estate: Covering residential projects, hotels, and mixed-use developments, with Reignwood Park as a flagship project in Thailand.
  • Golf & Hospitality: Investments in golf courses, hotels, and luxury hospitality businesses including Wentworth Club in England, Reignwood Pine Valley in Beijing, Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square, and Ten Trinity Square Private Club.
  • General Aviation: Aviation and general aviation businesses developed alongside the luxury lifestyle portfolio.
  • Resources & Energy: Businesses related to natural resources and energy, another sector within Reignwood’s portfolio.
  • Wellness & Sports: Health, sports, and wellness businesses being actively expanded within Reignwood Park through facilities like the Sport Complex and Reignwood Sports and Performance Center.
  • Leasing: Leasing and financial services form another component of the group’s portfolio.

“Woraponit,” the next-generation heir taking over

Amid the family’s business expansion, Please-Woraponit Ruayrungroeng assumed a key role as CEO of Reignwood Group. Her responsibilities extend beyond managing the family’s existing businesses to spearheading new business and asset development in Thailand for Reignwood.

Especiallythe Reignwood Park project,a mixed-use mega project covering over 2,000 rai in Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani, valued around 50 billion baht, aiming to become a world-class community for multi-generation living.

A key concept is that luxury business is not just about owning assets but creating comprehensive experiences and quality of life. This idea shapes Reignwood Park’s model, integrating real estate, sports, education, health, and lifestyle within a single area that includes residences, golf courses, international schools, sports, recreation, and wellness.

The first phase includes

  • REIGNWOOD ESTATE, 41 bespoke ultra-luxury mansions starting at about 300 million baht each at launch.
  • REIGNWOOD SERENO, a premium living housing project with 101 units starting around 40 million baht each.
  • Robinswood Golf Club, a world-class 18-hole golf course stretching over 7,500 yards, designed to championship standards.
  • KIS International School Reignwood Park, an international school included as a key component of the family community development.

Also included are PARK11 Community Mall, a Sport Complex, and wellness and hospitality facilities, reflecting the evolution of real estate into a growing luxury lifestyle ecosystem. This aligns with Reignwood’s strategy to build a comprehensive luxury lifestyle ecosystem covering living, education, sports, health, and premium experiences.

SEA BEAR, the luxury yacht at the center of the dispute,

The SEA BEAR yacht involved in the current dispute is positioned as part of Reignwood Park’s luxury experience under the concept Reignwood Life,” which aims to offer a luxury lifestyle experience from homes and golf courses to sports, wellness, and sea leisure experiences.

SEA BEAR is presented as a superyacht and was the favored yacht of golf legend Jack Nicklaus, nicknamed the “Golden Bear,” which inspired the yacht’s name. Reignwood uses this yacht to create private and exclusive experiences for VVIP clients and guests.

Before the lawsuit, Reignwood Park and VATANIKA announced a business partnership in May 2026, with Reignwood Park sponsoring the  Equilibrium by VATANIKA project, which promotes balanced living, self-care, and wellbeing.

This partnership aligns directly with Reignwood Life’s concept. The first Equilibrium by VATANIKA event was a private invitation-only experience held in Phuket, where Reignwood Park used SEA BEAR as part of the sea experience. However, the details and allegations from each side remain under court consideration.
