The world premiere of “Jurassic World: The Experience” at the large tourist landmark, Asiatique The Riverfront Destination, recently created a significant boost for the shopping center business of Asset World Corporation Public Company Limited (AWC). Ticket sales exceeded 200,000 within the first three months, reflecting the success of a strategy that innovates fun experiences to attract both Thai and international tourists to visit Thailand continuously.
Recently, AWC launched another major highlight of AsiaTique by unveiling Skyflyers, a large flying ride ranked as the tallest in the Asia-Pacific region and among the top three worldwide, with a height equivalent to a 36-story building. It has become a new entertainment landmark in Bangkok and along the Chao Phraya riverside area.
The Skyflyers ride is part of the Asiatique District 2.2 development project, valued at over 2 billion baht. AWC aims for it to provide a multi-dimensional tourism experience, combining interactive paleontology activities with retail and dining options. The full project is scheduled for completion in 2027 to elevate AsiaTique into a truly global tourism destination.
The concept of Skyflyers draws inspiration from “Garudapterus,” a new species of pterosaur flying reptile discovered for the first time in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The ride is designed as an “exploration journey,” integrating an edutainment approach that tells scientific stories through immersive real experiences, offering riders both knowledge and enjoyment simultaneously.
Michael Harit, Head of Commercial Business Group at Asset World Corporation, revealed that Skyflyers targets tourists seeking novel experiences and a 360-degree panoramic view of Bangkok. This includes families, youth groups, and foreign tourists eager to check in at Bangkok’s newest landmark.
Skyflyers accommodates 24 riders per cycle and takes about 3–4 minutes per ride. It is expected to serve around 1,000 visitors daily, which should help increase AsiaTique’s visitor numbers during the year-end high season by 10–15% from the previous average of 25,000–30,000 visitors per day.
Meanwhile, plans to develop additional activities and rides are under study. These will connect with the AWC River Journey Project, which focuses on cultural tourism development along the Chao Phraya River, attracting quality tourists and supporting Thailand’s aim to become a global riverside tourism destination by integrating learning experiences, family activities, and international entertainment.
