OIC Pins Street Art Landmark to Make Insurance More Accessible

Mr. Chuchat Pramoonpol, Secretary-General of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), said the OIC has revamped its insurance communication approach to be easier to understand and closer to daily life by harnessing the power of public art, especially street art and graffiti. This serves as a tool to connect safety information with communities and effectively reach the younger generation through real experiences in the heart of the city.

Accordingly, the OIC organized the INSURANCE STREET SENSE event to build on Bangkok’s creative tourism trend by creating an art landmark that seamlessly blends insurance stories with community life, turning it into a key check-in point for Bangkok Design Week 2026, the largest design festival in Southeast Asia.

The event invites young people to enjoy art on Songwat Road through a creative project combining public street art with the concept of protection (insurance). The concept "Insurance x Street Art = Protect" reflects the OIC’s belief that protection extends beyond life and property to include the identity, culture, and values of communities. Public art is more than creative work; it is a tool to bring communities to life, attract tourists, generate income, and preserve valuable heritage.

The OIC is building social stability and sustainability throughout the system under the S.O.S concept, from safety protection to cultural preservation, so that the community's valuables are not forgotten. Because Someone On Your Side: the OIC is by your side.

The initiative drives progress through the S.O.S principles, elevating communities toward sustainable security in three dimensions for comprehensive development: S - Secure domestic: transforming communities into safe places and developing them as tourist destinations to sustainably boost the local economy.

O - Out risk Opportunity: creating risk management systems to reduce accidents and increase community access to insurance.

S - Sustainable Future: ensuring people have stable lives with protection guarantees and building a better future for the younger generation with sufficient resources and environment.

At the event, visitors can meet the cute mascot Nong Pitak, the protector ready to assist and guide tours at the new landmark, HUGS Songwat! Attendees can also explore street art, enjoy creative Photo Effect activities, and take graffiti photos on charming old buildings. Posting these on social media with hashtags #OICONYOURSIDE #BKKDW2026 offers a chance to receive special drinks, limited to 30 servings per day (only at HUGS Songwat).

Also not to be missed is the experience of touring Songwat with an AI Map by scanning a QR code (Click here) to enjoy a smart and creative Songwat tour throughout Bangkok Design Week 2026, which transforms the area for 11 full days from 29 January to 8 February 2026 at HUGS Songwat, Songwat Road.
