Kuk Vegetable Oil Receives CSR-DIW Continuous Award, Reinforcing Sustainability Commitment

Mr. Phet Wangli, Managing Director of Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company Limited, received the CSR-DIW Continuous Award for 2026 from Dr. Natthapon Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, in a ceremony organized by the Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry.

The award is given to establishments that prioritize and support the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards comprehensively. The ceremony was honored by Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, Minister of Industry, who presided over the award presentation.

Mr. Phet stated that the company has received the CSR-DIW Continuous Award for the 14th consecutive year, reflecting its commitment to sustainable and concrete CSR policies that create positive impacts on the environment, society, and circular economy.

This starts with fostering a sustainability mindset among employees under three main pillars: Environment, Social, and Circular Economy. The company also extends support to educating external communities to generate sustainable positive impacts.

Key ongoing projects include the mobile waste separation initiative and a waste bank, which promote proper waste sorting in communities and schools. The program features a system to exchange recyclable waste for value incentives, motivating local residents to manage waste responsibly, raising environmental awareness, and encouraging practical waste management to reduce landfill waste and improve recycling efficiency.

The Kuk Waste Collection project builds on the mobile waste separation by installing collection bins for PET bottles and aluminum cans to encourage waste sorting and increase waste value through recycling or upcycling for reuse. The company invites community members and shops to participate by depositing PET bottles or aluminum cans into bins to accumulate points redeemable for goods or discounts at participating stores, promoting a sustainable circular economy.

The Innovation Greenhouse project adds value to organic waste management sustainably by using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae to convert waste into nutrient-rich black soil fertilizer and related products such as pupal cases, live larvae, and eggs. It also includes developing a learning center to raise awareness and promote community employment, starting at Koh Sichang School and expanding to other schools.

The Old Oil for New Oil project sets up collection points for used cooking oil at Bangchak gas stations in Bangkok and surrounding areas to encourage valuable waste separation and promote the reuse of waste for environmental and social benefits.

The CSR-DIW Continuous Award is granted to companies that maintain standards in operating under industrial operators’ responsibility guidelines, considering social responsibility, environmental care, and sustainable community development. It covers seven key areas:

These include corporate governance, human rights, labor practices, environmental management, fair operations, consumer care, and community development participation. Receiving this award reflects organizations’ dedication to maintaining CSR standards and sustainable development.
