Pacific Healthcare Launches New Innovation to Advance Gastrointestinal Market

Mr. Phichitchai Chakrapaisan, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Pacific Healthcare (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated that as a regional leader in health distribution and marketing with over 65 years of experience, the company is elevating care for gastrointestinal patients. They focus on addressing the suffering caused by acid reflux disease that impacts daily life, introducing a new acid control innovation to expand treatment options and improve quality of life.

Over the past 65 years, we have continuously strengthened our position through trusted partnerships with global health brands, selecting international health innovations to meet medical needs and help address the challenges faced by many acid reflux patients who still struggle with daily life.

Many patients experience nighttime flare-ups that disrupt restful sleep, harming both physical and mental health, or worry about medication timing inconsistent with meals. Introducing this acid control innovation marks an important step in delivering healthcare standards that fit the fast-paced, unpredictable lives of today’s patients.

Currently, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is not just a common illness but a significant barrier to normal living. Data from the Thai Neurogastroenterology and Motility Association shows that 7.4% to 10% of Thai people suffer from this disease, especially those with refractory GERD whose symptoms do not subside with standard treatment, a group growing due to fast lifestyles and high stress.

Patients with acid reflux often endure discomfort from stomach acid or food backing up into the esophagus, throat, or mouth, often causing sour or bitter taste, heartburn, and interrupted sleep from nighttime symptom flare-ups.

These issues negatively affect long-term physical and mental health. Consulting a doctor for appropriate medication can effectively treat and control acid reflux symptoms throughout the day, providing a more targeted solution than temporary symptom relief. This initiative marks a key advancement as the company enhances its capabilities in gastrointestinal diseases through collaboration with HK inno.N, a major pharmaceutical innovator from South Korea, and Pond Chemicals (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a leading Thai medicine and medical supplies producer and importer. Together, they aim to enable Thai patients to access effective treatments and return to normal life more quickly.

The academic conference 'An Advanced Acid Control: The New Power Begins' showcased acid reflux care innovations from South Korea, focusing on improving quality of life for patients troubled by nocturnal acid disturbances that harm sleep quality. This presentation aims to fill treatment gaps with acid control mechanisms to reduce nighttime awakenings and restore complete rest, helping patients regain normal life efficiently and faster.

"With 65 years of experience and a partner network spanning 20 countries, combined with a deep understanding of customer needs in each market, we continue to select global health solutions to serve as a bridge to better quality of life for Thais and people across the region sustainably," Mr. Phichitchai concluded.

Currently, Pacific Healthcare is trusted by over 50 leading brand partners across pharmaceuticals, supplements, and medical devices, serving more than 600 million consumers throughout the region with flexible services that truly meet market demands.

Supporting wildfire prevention efforts Mr. Sujin Saengkaew, Chief Executive of Pa Miang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, received donations of drinking water, face masks, and essential consumables from Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited. Mr. Jirasak Kengsuwan, Assistant Manager of Northern Operations 1 in the Claims Operations Center, represented the company in handing over these supplies to support wildfire prevention and control efforts in Pa Miang Subdistrict, Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province.

This also serves to boost morale for officers and volunteers who selflessly perform their duties, enabling them to carry out their missions effectively and safely. The donation ceremony took place at Pa Miang Subdistrict Municipality Office, Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province.

Additionally, Mr. Jirasak Kengsuwan led the Viriyah volunteer group to deliver drinking water to wildfire control and operations personnel at the 16th Conservation Area Management Office in Chiang Mai. This helped distribute aid widely to units working in high-risk areas comprehensively.

The wildfire and smog situation in northern Thailand remains a significant problem, impacting the environment and quality of life broadly. It causes damage to forest resources, wildlife, and alters local climate, while also producing fine particulate matter (PM2.5) that affects public health and daily living.

As a private sector organization, the company recognizes these critical issues, closely monitors the situation, and integrates cooperation with regional agencies and networks to promptly alleviate hardships and contribute to effective long-term wildfire management.
