
Better World Green Public Company Limited (BWG) announced that following the fire at the Saraburi Industrial Waste Management Center on 14 April 2026, the company quickly contained the incident and immediately coordinated with government agencies to inspect the area, ensuring safety and reassuring the surrounding community.
The company clarified that the incident was not a serious emergency as rumored. The fire was limited to the HDPE plastic sheeting used to cover the landfill to prevent odors and rainwater; the industrial waste beneath was not ignited, allowing officials to quickly control the fire within a confined area.
Inspections of the surrounding area found no damage to life or property, including employees and nearby residents. The situation remained normal with no evacuations required, contrary to earlier rumors.
Regarding environmental impact, a key concern, the Pollution Control Department deployed experts to measure air quality at multiple points around the site. Results from the time of the fire until now show air quality levels within normal standards, posing no health risks to the public.
Simultaneously, the Saraburi Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office inspected nearby public water sources and confirmed no issues of pollution or contamination related to the fire suppression efforts.
Throughout the incident and afterward, the company closely monitored the situation and maintained coordination with provincial authorities, with no complaints reported from residents near the facility.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to safety and environmental management standards, supporting ongoing inspections by all relevant agencies to enhance confidence and ensure community safety to the highest degree.
Focusing on good governance and sustainable coexistence with the community as priorities, the company is currently working to restore the affected area to standards and is using HDPE sheeting to cover the burned sections of the landfill.
