The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, is advancing the Thai content industry onto the global stage by organizing the Bangkok International Content Market 2026 (BICM2026), Thailand’s first international content trading platform and business negotiation space, held under the Thailand Content Market 2026 (TCM2026) event.
This initiative is a collaboration between CEA and the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) to elevate Thai content as a new driving force for national economic growth, aiming to establish Thailand as the "Content Hub of Asia" in a systematic and strategic manner. The event will take place from 20 to 22 July 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok.
Dr. Chakrit Pichyangkura, Director of the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), said BICM2026 marks a significant step in systematically upgrading Thailand’s content trading platform to the international level. It will not only showcase content works but also create networking and an ecosystem for the Thai content industry.
He added that BICM2026 will connect creators, investors, and international partners to generate tangible business opportunities and collaborations. CEA is committed to promoting Thai content and storytelling to create economic value for the country.
Thai content shows great potential, as reflected in the 2020 Input-Output Table, which indicates that investments in the content industry—especially in film and broadcasting—yield economic returns exceeding the initial investment. For every 1 baht invested, an average economic value of 1.8 baht is generated, highlighting the content industry as a key driver of the country’s economic growth.
