Energy Minister Akinat Promphan chaired the opening of The Nova Expo 2026 – Re:Build and delivered a special keynote titled "Energy Ministry Policies to Enhance Energy Management in Buildings to Reduce Global Warming." He emphasized that the building sector is a key mechanism in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring the country's long-term energy security.
Dr. Ketsa Theerakomen, chairman of The NOVA Expo 2026, said the Re:Build concept goes beyond merely renovating buildings. It involves enhancing the potential of existing buildings by upgrading engineering systems, energy technologies, indoor health conditions, and occupants’ quality of life to support Net Zero Carbon goals and future green economic growth.
The NOVA Expo is organized by EEC Academy under the EEC Engineering Network. In 2026, marking 50 years of engineering and building design operations, the event also launched the Re Handbook—a practical guide for building owners, engineers, and designers on upgrading buildings toward Net Zero.
Currently, over 70% of buildings in Thailand are more than 20 years old. The building and housing sectors together consume nearly half of the country's electricity. Upgrading buildings is therefore a crucial opportunity to reduce energy use by up to 50%, significantly cutting the nation’s energy consumption.
Another strength of the Re:Build concept is leveraging the potential of existing buildings with established locations and transport systems, which immediately increases asset value and competitiveness. It also uses less carbon than demolishing and constructing new buildings. Meanwhile, trends in indoor environmental quality (IEQ) are becoming vital for attracting investment and supporting Thailand’s role as an international business and service hub.
Over the three-day event, free seminars covered engineering, architecture, smart buildings, AI technology, building management, and practical energy and carbon reduction strategies. Many projects featured can recoup investments within two to three years.
The NOVA Expo 2026 is supported by leading public, academic, and private organizations, reflecting strong collaboration to drive Thailand’s building industry toward a tangible Net Zero future. It reaffirms the role of upgrading existing buildings as a key mechanism to turn old buildings into new opportunities for sustainable Thai economic growth.
/Menu Update/ Starbucks Thailand continues to delight customers with exclusive local ingredients, highlighting the Thai mango variety "Mahachanok" and mangosteen to refresh tastes. The new seasonal menu features pistachio and will be available from 2 June to 20 July 2026 at all Starbucks branches nationwide. Also not to be missed is the new Starbucks Aerogano, offering a new Americano experience with air-pressurized smooth foam, served from 8 June 2026 onward.
/GH Bank Pruksanarak/ Dr. Mahattana Amornpisit, Governor of the Government Housing Bank (GH Bank), led the GH Bank Pruksanarak activity for the National Tree Day 2026, joined by executives and staff to plant auspicious "Mangmee" trees symbolizing financial stability, prestige, good fortune, and abundance.
GH Bank's headquarters features over 4,700 square meters of green space with 68 species totaling 379 trees, 40% of which are large standing trees. The green areas are maintained continuously under sustainable green space management practices.
In addition to professional care, GH Bank has created a large tree conservation registry with QR code tags on 150 large trees to provide detailed information to staff and interested parties. These mature trees at GH Bank headquarters absorb approximately 46.09 tons of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gases.
The GH Bank Pruksanarak activity for National Tree Day 2026 promotes awareness of tree planting importance at organizational and household levels as part of national greenhouse gas reduction goals toward sustainable Net Zero. GH Bank organized this event to support these objectives.
/Community Well-being/ Good health involves more than exercise; it also includes having quality spaces for people to spend time together. HomePro and Mega Home invite everyone to join free weekly aerobic dance sessions under the concept "Move Your Body, Relax Your Mind, Gain Good Health."
