Marketing Roundup: DITP Reports Thai Halal Pavilion Generates Over 500 Million Baht in Revenue

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) under the Ministry of Commerce announced that the Thai Halal Pavilion at THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2026, held from 26 to 30 May 2026 at Hall 9 of the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Muang Thong Thani, attracted strong interest from buyers, importers, business operators, and visitors both domestically and internationally.

Notably, key potential and partner countries such as China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, the United States, Australia, India, and Middle Eastern countries including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia participated, resulting in trade negotiations totaling over 16.239 billion US dollars, equivalent to more than 530 million baht. This reflects the capability and readiness of Thailand's halal food industry to enter the global market.

The Thai Halal Pavilion was organized under the project to promote the image of halal food products at the 2026 food exhibition. It gathered 19 Thai halal food and beverage entrepreneurs, representing leading companies from five southern border provinces: Songkhla, Satun, Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat, which are notably distinguished participants.

Each booth was rigorously selected by a committee of experts, including representatives from the Songkhla Department of Internal Trade, the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre, Prince of Songkla University, and the Office of the Private Education Commission. The pavilion also featured a booth from the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand to promote Thai halal standards and certification, aiming for international recognition.

The top five product categories that drew the most interest from visitors and importers were: 1. Fine food and ready-to-eat meals; 2. Snacks and processed products; 3. Frozen and canned seafood; 4. Seasonings and curry pastes; and 5. Processed fruits such as frozen durian.
