Ayinomoto Foundation Advances Well-Being of Thai People

Dr. Sakrin Phumirat, chairman of the Ayinomoto Foundation, stated that over the past 50 years, the foundation has supported more than 650 million baht to enhance the quality of life of Thai people through projects in nutrition, education, research, and innovation, achieving tangible results.

In nutrition, the foundation has funded the construction of cafeterias in schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), covering over 167 of 183 districts nationwide, with a goal to cover all 183 districts by 2027. It also conducts workshops and develops model schools focused on nutrition to promote sustainable well-being among Thai children.

In education, research, and innovation, the foundation has awarded scholarships to more than 2,000 students and supported over 50 researchers to develop knowledge in food, health, nutrition, and the environment, benefiting Thai society in the long term.

Dr. Sakrin said the foundation's origin is rooted in a simple yet powerful belief that a strong organization cannot grow alone but must grow alongside a strong society. This concept has been the foundation (Root) and key milestone that the foundation has adhered to and driven for half a century.

Over the past 50 years, the foundation has given back positively to Thai society in many dimensions, believing that the impact far exceeds the investment made, to sustainably elevate the well-being of Thai society.

The successes and positive impacts over the last 50 years are not solely due to the foundation's efforts but also involve government agencies, private sectors, communities, and partners who share resources and knowledge, playing a crucial role in driving progress together. They are like gardeners tending the actual soil.

As it enters its sixth decade, the Ayinomoto Foundation pledges to continue building on this solid foundation to create a strong future (Future Rise) and grow sustainably alongside Thai society.
