Chittawat Jitsamruay, executive and founder of SUPER Coconut Company Limited (SUPER Coconut), said they have launched SUPER rOS, or SUPER restaurantOS, an operating system for restaurant businesses. It is designed to address fragmented back-office management issues, helping operators control costs, seal operational gaps, and systematically scale their businesses.
The problems affecting restaurant profit margins are not only due to raw material costs or kitchen operations but also stem from fragmented back-office systems. Many operators use multiple software systems, including POS, inventory management, membership systems, employee management, and accounting.
When these systems are not integrated, it can lead to duplicate data entry, increased employee workload, time lost gathering information, and prevent owners from having a clear overview of their business to make quick decisions. SUPER rOS was developed under the SaaB (Software as a Business) concept, an evolution from SaaS (Software as a Service), with the mindset that each restaurant is a business organization.
The system consolidates essential restaurant management tools into a single platform, from front to back of house, helping reduce costs from using multiple software packages, minimize redundant tasks, and enable operators to leverage data to improve efficiency and profitability.
Chittawat added that developing restaurant software is like cooking—everyone wants to make delicious food, just as SUPER aims to create the best restaurant software.
"When we cook, we want the food to be delicious; if it isn't, we wouldn't want to sell it. Similarly, today as we develop restaurant software, we want to make the best software."
SUPER rOS was developed by collecting and analyzing over 1,505 real user cases, covering issues from order taking, ingredient management, membership care, employee administration, to tracking revenue, costs, and profits. Its main goal is to create an easy-to-use platform that solves problems down to the bottom line, reflecting the true profitability of the business.
SUPER rOS comprises eight main functions:
1. POS and QR Ordering system supporting various sales methods, allowing customers to order via QR codes, reducing steps and wait times, and increasing table turnover during peak hours.
2. Inventory and Master Data management with a database of over 30,000 ingredients to help calculate cost of goods sold (COGS), featuring OCR technology that reads text from menu images or PDFs to generate menu data, categories, and prices.
3. CRM Loyalty and CDP membership system for collecting and managing customer data, segmenting members, analyzing behavior, and configuring marketing messages via LINE to encourage repeat visits.
4. Dashboard and SUPER AI displaying real-time sales and profit-loss estimates, with an AI assistant named "Nong Sud Yod" that analyzes store data to aid business decision-making.
5. Human Resource Management (HRM) system covering shift scheduling, personnel management, and automated payroll calculation to help control labor costs.
6. Centralized accounting system consolidating financial data from all branches and preparing financial statements to ensure transparency and readiness for business expansion.
7. Web Owner system as a back-office management hub that can handle accounting, inventory, and staff from a single system.
8. Mobile First system enabling executives to monitor sales and access various functions via smartphones from anywhere.
Beyond technology, SUPER highlights its after-sales service, stating that the Customer Success team responds to clients within one minute to resolve issues and minimize operational disruptions that could affect sales. The company also plans to expand the restaurant business ecosystem with services like SUPER Train, SUPER Supp, and SUPER Mart to provide comprehensive support to operators.
The launch of SUPER rOS reflects efforts to use technology to organize restaurant businesses from front of house, back office, to financial data, aiming to enable small restaurants to manage operations and data at the level of large enterprises, laying a foundation for future growth and branch expansion.
