Mr. Kritanan Sonthichirawong, Chief Executive Officer of The Signature Brand Company Limited, said that Thai kitchens are shifting roles from cooking spaces once hidden at the back of the house to living areas that reflect the homeowner's taste and identity.
This concept was highlighted as a key topic at the Thai Kitchen Reimagined event held at CentralWorld shopping center to reflect the direction of modern Thai kitchens, which emphasize not only functional efficiency but also regard the kitchen as a Living Space.
Mr. Kritanan added that during Tecnoplus's more than 20 years alongside Thai kitchens, the brand has continually questioned why Thai kitchens must be hidden at the back. The traditional image of Thai kitchens has often been of heavy-duty workspaces with little focus on design.
This contrasts with European kitchens, which are open and meant to be showcased. Meanwhile, many consumers have had to choose between products that function well but lack beauty, and those that look good but fail in functionality, even though both qualities should coexist in one product.
This idea has evolved into Bold Functions Plus Design, which integrates functionality with design under the concept that any kitchen can be beautiful. This addresses consumers who see the kitchen not just as a cooking area but as the center of relationships and daily life for all household members—a Living Space.
From a design perspective, Mr. Gap Thanavet Siriwatthanakul, a design and architecture creator, observes that current home design trends pay more attention to kitchens, especially using black tones. This is not just a trend but a design language reflecting taste, refinement, and the homeowner’s identity, elevating the kitchen to serve as a key piece of furniture that completes the home’s overall look.
Meanwhile, Mr. In Narongrit Saeko, known as Chef In from the 'Kumlang In' page, believes that although design plays a greater role, functionality remains crucial for Thai kitchens, especially since Thai cooking requires high heat to create the distinctive wok aroma. Kitchenware must have a strong structure to endure daily heavy use, alongside technology that enhances convenience.
At the event, Tecnoplus launched the PRO SERIES BLACK EDITION product line under the Bold Functions Plus Design concept to embody the new image of Thai kitchens that blend functionality with design.
Those interested can experience the new definition of Tecnoplus kitchens through the PRO SERIES BLACK EDITION products available at HomePro, Thai Watsadu, BnB Home, Power Buy, Dohome, Global House, and Mega Home branches nationwide.
