Marketing Roundup: Elevating Local Products to Sustainable Commercial Markets

Dr. Arpamas Janmekha, Deputy Director of the Bio-Economy Development Office (Public Organization), or BEDO, opened the event emphasizing BEDO's commitment to advancing the bioeconomy through sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity under the Nature Positive concept. This approach aims for balanced growth between natural resources and the bioeconomy, generating stable income, enhancing community quality of life, and preserving biodiversity richness for future generations.

This event provided communities the chance to present biological products to private sector entrepreneurs, marking a significant transition that helps local communities access modern trade channels and become future business partners. The event featured several key activities, including:

• A panel discussion exchanging perspectives on upgrading biological resource products into sustainable businesses, helping communities understand strategies to develop products that meet commercial market demands.

• Experience sharing by Khun Khim-Leena Nakawiroj, owner of the TikTok channel “Southern Girl Growing Plants,” who shared her inspiration in growing a business alongside conserving biological resource bases.

• Exhibition space showcasing community products developed and elevated to Product Champion status.

• One-on-one business matching sessions between community producers and real private sector entrepreneurs from modern trade stores, online platforms, and other channels.

This event aims to increase marketing opportunities and distribution channels for biological resource products, serving as a key force to drive the national bioeconomy based on the Nature Positive concept, which balances economy, community, and nature sustainably.
