Marketing Roundup: Huawei Hosts 5G-Advanced x Mobile AI Forum

Huawei held the 5G-Advanced x Mobile AI Forum under the Huawei Digital & AI Summit 2026, gathering representatives from government, regulatory agencies, academics, and telecom industry experts to exchange visions about the future of Thailand's telecommunications industry and accelerate the country's transition to an AI-Native Mobile era.

Amid the shift to a digital era driven by AI, the forum showcased the convergence of 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technology and Mobile AI, which will transform connectivity, intelligent processing, and future digital services. Attendees shared visions for developing AI-ready networks capable of handling exponentially growing AI traffic, delivering new consumer experiences, driving business innovation, and supporting sustainable digital economic growth.

The event was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Sompop Purivikrayapong, commissioner of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), along with NBTC executives, faculty from Chulalongkorn University, industry experts, and Huawei representatives.

Associate Professor Dr. Sompop emphasized the importance of collaboration across all sectors to prepare Thailand’s digital infrastructure for the AI era, stating that no single regulatory body can predict future AI traffic alone, and industry forecasts should not be the sole factor guiding direction.

He added that close cooperation with service providers, technology developers, and collaborative platforms like this forum is essential to build a shared understanding based on clear data about future Mobile AI demand. This forum is among the first in Thailand focused on exchanging knowledge about the convergence of 5G-Advanced and Mobile AI, two key technologies shaping the future of telecom networks, digital services, and new AI-era business models.

Mr. Sané Saivong, a senior engineer at the NBTC, presented Thailand's policy direction for developing telecommunications infrastructure ready for AI. He highlighted the crucial need to allocate frequency spectrum for the future, especially the 3500 MHz band, to support the rapidly increasing AI usage on mobile networks, alongside promoting investment in efficient, energy-sustainable data centers.

Additionally, Huawei shared its global vision for AI-Native mobile networks, introducing how AI Agents, intelligent processing, and next-generation networks will collaboratively create a new digital economy driven by both data (Byte) and intelligent services (Token).

Mr. Allen Tang, President of Wireless and Cloud Core Networks and Solutions at Huawei Technologies, stated that as Thailand enters the 5G-Advanced era, the convergence of AI Agents and next-generation networks will drive the 'Byte + Token' economy and elevate the definition of intelligent connectivity to a new level.

Dr. Liu Jinshan, Senior Marketing Expert at Huawei Technologies, presented the Triple-A concept for 5G-Advanced, which includes Amplified Downlink, Accelerated Uplink, and Assured Differentiation. This concept supports AI applications requiring efficient, reliable connectivity to deliver premium digital experiences to users.

Mr. Vorakarn Likitdechasak, Chief Technology Officer of Network and ICT at Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said the future of the telecommunications industry is transitioning toward integrating connectivity and intelligent processing.

"Modern telecommunications are linking the worlds of connectivity and computing. 5G-Advanced will work in tandem with Mobile AI, while the combination of Byte and Token will create new opportunities in service solutions, innovation, and revenue generation from new business models."

He added that evolving from experience monetization to AI-to-X services and expanding value creation through Token systems under the Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) business model will be key drivers accelerating development of more diverse next-generation mobile networks and ICT infrastructure.

Throughout the conference, experts from multiple sectors exchanged views on AI applications such as Intelligent Agents, AI-Generated Content (AIGC), AI Live Streaming, AI Glasses, and other innovations that will create business opportunities across industries. They also discussed the 'Byte + Token' concept as the foundation for revenue models in the AI-Native Mobile era.

The 5G-Advanced x Mobile AI Forum reflects the shared commitment of government, industry, academia, and technology partners to collaboratively drive Thailand’s AI-ready telecommunications ecosystem. It reinforces Huawei’s long-term dedication to working with partners to enhance future ICT infrastructure, foster innovation, and support Thailand’s goal of becoming a leading AI hub in ASEAN.
