Mr. Jirawut Suwanart, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade, stated that following the success of the inaugural event, the department is organizing the second Premium Durian Fest 2026 in central Bangkok at Park Paragon, Siam Paragon Shopping Center.
This event aims to bring quality durians directly from Thai farmers to the heart of Bangkok, expanding marketing channels and accelerating the distribution of produce during the final phase of the 2026 durian season, as harvests from the South and North continue to enter the market towards season's end.
The department is steadily implementing the 2026 fruit management measures to absorb the large volume of produce entering the market. These include linking produce purchases, distributing products beyond production areas, opening sales spaces in retail stores, shopping centers, markets, and high-traffic areas, as well as promoting sales through online platforms and Live Commerce to maximize farmers' access to consumers.
"The department continuously connects and distributes Thai fruit produce to reduce oversupply issues, expand sales channels, and increase incomes for farmers across many regions nationwide. This event is thus a key activity to expedite produce distribution during the season's end and offer consumers access to quality Thai durians at affordable prices," he said.
The Premium Durian Fest 2026 gathers quality durians from major production areas nationwide, along with special activities and promotions, allowing the public to purchase quality Thai fruits at good value and directly support Thai farmers. Highlights include:
• Quality durians at 100 baht each, limited to 1,000 durians per day
• Durian buffet priced at 699 baht per person
• Sale of fresh quality durians and processed products from Thai farmers, as well as mangosteens and seasonal fruits from key production areas nationwide, especially late-season mangosteens.
Directly from farms to consumers.
Mr. Jirawut said the event aims not only to stimulate durian consumption but also to help distribute Thai fruits directly from production areas to consumers, easing price pressures and adding value to farmers' produce during the season's end. The Department of Internal Trade invites the public to join Premium Durian Fest 2026 from 3–7 September 2026 at Park Paragon, Siam Paragon Shopping Center.
Those who missed the 100-baht durian offer at the first event at Central Northville need not worry, as the durian and quality Thai fruit festival is brought to central Bangkok, allowing people to purchase fresh fruits from Thai farmers at special prices and support farmers' income during the final stretch of this year's fruit season.
