Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO), the Samut Prakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, and the Butterfly organization, held an opening ceremony for the innovative organic waste value-adding greenhouse. This serves as a learning center and organic waste management facility for the school and community at Klong Na Kluea Noi (Klin Upam) School, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province.
The event featured a lecture on organic waste management using BSF larvae by the social enterprise Kan Flower Co., Ltd. There was also a knowledge-sharing presentation on the BSF greenhouse project by students from Wat Kae School, followed by a tour of the black soldier fly greenhouse, including breeding and propagation processes, aiming to develop circular economy and sustainability at the community level.
Mr. Adul Premprasert, CEO of Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Co., Ltd., manufacturer and distributor of Kook cooking oil, one of Poolpol Group's main businesses, said the opening of this greenhouse builds on the previous innovative organic waste greenhouse at Koh Si Chang, established as a learning center and community livelihood development hub in 2023.
The initiative follows the Sustainable Business Strategy based on the 4G principles: Green Corporate, Great Culture, Good Governance, and Global Sustainability. A key activity under Green Corporate is inspiring and changing mindsets across the supply chain, emphasizing efficient waste sorting at the source, especially separating organic waste from recyclable and general waste, to add value and promote shared sustainability.

It supports the construction of innovative organic waste greenhouses to advance eco-friendly organic waste management. The project aims to help community development and foster effective collaboration among the company, community, and partners from all sectors in environmental stewardship.
The opening at Klong Na Kluea Noi (Klin Upam) School is the fourth greenhouse, adding to the previous three at Koh Si Chang, Phra Samut Chedi Kindergarten, and Wat Kae School. This year, the company plans to convert these three existing greenhouses into fully developed community-level organic waste management learning centers.
This includes developing integrated environmental curricula for students and conducting training activities for community members and local agencies to build understanding and practical application. The project also aims to expand partnerships among educational institutions, temples, hospitals, and the private sector to enhance production efficiency by improving organic fertilizer and BSF product quality and quantity.
The company has consistently committed to ongoing community CSR projects to enhance local quality of life under its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, especially environmental initiatives targeting the End of Waste goal. Since launching the innovative organic waste greenhouse with BSF larvae in 2023 at Koh Si Chang, many communities and schools have shown interest in adopting and further developing this model independently. The innovative organic waste greenhouse promotes sustainable organic waste management using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, converting waste into valuable black soil fertilizer and by-products such as pupal cases, live larvae, and eggs. It also develops learning centers to raise awareness and support community livelihoods by maximizing organic waste reuse, generating positive environmental, social, and economic impacts locally. The project began at Koh Si Chang School and is expanding to other schools.
