In the past, owners usually brought pets to veterinarians only when they showed clear illness symptoms or for basic vaccinations. Now, over 60% of hospital visits are for preventive care.
Data shows that older pets now live on average 1.4 years longer than five years ago, leading to more diagnoses of age-related degenerative diseases such as arthritis, chronic kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. The hospital has thus designed programs includingvaried treatment optionsthat can also screen risks in advance, leading to Personalized Veterinary Medicine—veterinary care plans tailored to each pet’s age, breed, genetics, nutrition, and lifestyle.
One key technology supporting the Pet Longevity trend and in-depth health care is Stem Cell Technology, a regenerative medicine for pets to restore cellular degeneration and expand treatment options beyond traditional care.
This involves Stem Cell Banking, which extracts, cultures, and stores stem cells from a pet’s tissue, blood, or umbilical cord in a frozen stem cell bank.
The stored cells can be used to treat chronic inflammation, repair tissues, and restore degeneration, such as managing arthritis, tendon inflammation, chronic kidney disease in cats, and neurological conditions.
