Examining Thai people's fondness for gambling through the legendary lucky draw campaigns held for over 40 years, Thairath has continuously invited Thais to cheer on global and European football. This year, statistics show that before the final two days, fans nationwide eagerly participated by sending postcards and online postcards, totaling over 50 million entries.
According to submission statistics for the round of 16 on 26 June 2024 GMT+7, a total of 2,175,524 entries were received, comprising 1,548,219 postcards and 627,305 online postcards. The most popular national teams were Germany, Spain, and France, respectively.
As of 12 July 2024 GMT+7, over 50 million postcards have been sold, including more than 48 million physical postcards and over 6 million online postcards. These figures reflect the enthusiastic response of Thai football fans to Euro 2024 this year.
To boost interest during the final stretch, Thairath has teamed up with Krungthai Bank, the provider of the "Pao Tang" application, to offer special coupons. Fans can collect coupons to receive 10 free online postcards when purchasing postcards through Pao Tang Pay. Coupons must be claimed via banners on Thairath’s website and social media only.
Although Thai lifestyles increasingly favor online platforms, many still enjoy the traditional fun of writing and mailing physical postcards. Therefore, Thairath has collaborated with Thailand Post and The Mall Group to set up a booth at M Grand Hall, Ground Floor, The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi, where visitors can buy postcards and receive special souvenirs from 11 to 13 July 2024 GMT+7.
Additionally, the campaign’s presenter, Tae Setthapong, will participate in an event on 13 July 2024 GMT+7 from 13:00 to 14:30.
Interested participants can continue submitting entries until 14 July 2024 GMT+7, 18:00 for postcards and 23:59 for online postcards via the Prompt Post and Pao Tang apps. More details are available through Thairath media outlets or by visitingwww.thairath.co.th/football2024activity
