The Prime Minister's Office, through the Public Relations Department, has scheduled an exhibition and academic seminar event under the cultural capital Legacy theme in fashion, titled "Promoting The Art of Thai Wisdom: Reinterpreting Traditional Craftsmanship for Today." This focuses on promoting the wisdom and craftsmanship of Thai textiles through a contemporary perspective into today's crafts.
The event will be held from 11 to 13 August 2026 at Charoen Nakhon Hall and Thara Hall, M Floor, ICONSIAM, Bangkok. It commemorates the graciousness and spreads the royal initiative promoting Thai handicrafts on the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's birthday on 12 August. Her Majesty's dedication to conserving, restoring, and developing local handicrafts and wisdom to be recognized both domestically and internationally is honored, while also creating a fashion trend that builds on Thai wisdom to be widely known and accessible.
Today, knowledge of traditional Thai dress and textiles has been revived and transformed into contemporary works by designers, weavers, artisans, community members, and young people who recognize the value and work together to preserve Thai wisdom from fading. They also develop these works to meet daily use needs, gaining recognition both nationally and internationally as contemporary fashion reflecting Thailand’s historical roots and identity through creative industry concepts.
This event also pays tribute to the graciousness of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, who laid the foundation for conserving and developing Thai textiles to gain international recognition. It continues the royal initiative through Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya’s guidance to elevate Thai textiles into contemporary fashion that can proudly compete on the global stage.
Visitors will encounter fashion exhibitions and creative products from 10 model communities across the country, including the Srivichai Weaving Group from Surat Thani, Th. Monto Group from Udon Thani, Kwanta Group from Nong Bua Lamphu, ME-D NATHAP Group from Songkhla, T.Chattuwan Group from Roi Et, Mantrathikan Group from Kalasin, Thai Silk Village Company from Chiang Mai, Wu Mai Thai weaving group from Ban Mae San Ban Tong, Lamphun, Impani Group from Ratchaburi, and Mai Thong Suranaree Group from Nakhon Ratchasima.
These communities' work has been developed through collaboration among community entrepreneurs, designers, stylists, and fashion experts, showcasing over 100 pieces reflecting local identities through contemporary design. The collection covers attire for formal occasions and daily lifestyle wear.
This exhibition reflects the meaning of Legacy as the continuation and enhancement of core cultural heritage values, preserving original uniqueness while concretely passing knowledge to communities. It is driven by national artists, designers, and experts in Thai textile creation working with 10 model communities from all regions, which are key sources of weaving wisdom.
Traditional knowledge is developed into contemporary works that fully preserve each community’s cultural identity. The Legacy project’s results serve as an example of honoring Thai weaving heritage in today’s world by combining creativity with traditional wisdom, producing works that reflect cultural value, beauty, and potential for international advancement.
Additionally, there will be knowledge exchange seminars featuring experts, designers, and leading entrepreneurs such as Sudthai Lertkasem, Director-General of the Public Relations Department; Dr. Sarinda Jamraman, advisor to the “Have Fun Wearing Thai Textiles” project; Sirichai Taharanont, founder of THEATRE brand; Wicharawit Akrasantisuk, founder of WISHARAWISH brand; and Jenasuda Panto Sirisun, founder of JANESUDA brand. Along with faculty and fashion experts from leading educational institutions, they will share knowledge on adding value to Thai textiles and community products, as well as strategies to develop Thai fashion to meet global market demands in the creative economy era.
Throughout the three days, visitors can enjoy special fashion shows showcasing the charm of Thai textiles through contemporary perspectives, featuring works from model communities and project designers. The runway will include models and famous artists such as Opal Suchata Chuangsi, Miss World 2025; Aom Kornnapas Settharattanapong; Lena Lalina Chuett; Mew Natcha Techamongkolapiwat; and Bank Sornram Englap, along with many other well-known artists and personalities. They will collectively convey Thailand’s soft power through contemporary fashion, inspiring younger generations to wear and take pride in Thai textiles.
The Legacy of Thai Textiles & Fashion event is an important platform to showcase the value and potential of Thai textiles and traditional crafts, raising awareness nationally and internationally. It reinforces Thai fashion's role in generating economic value, increasing community income, and promoting pride in Thai cultural identity sustainably.

Driving the Preventive Healthcare strategy Dr. Sawinee Jiriyasin, a specialist in gastroenterology and hepatology at Vimut Phaholyothin Hospital, along with Oranong Phuwong, a professional dietitian, shared knowledge on liver disease prevention on World Hepatitis Day. They provided health education to insurance representatives from various companies, covering risk assessment, warning signs, and multidisciplinary liver health care at Vimut Phaholyothin Hospital.
