The Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) has partnered with eight government agencies to announce an integrated cooperation promoting SMEs through the One Code, One Entrepreneur system (SME ONE ID). This initiative advances the linkage of entrepreneur data across government agencies, reducing paperwork and increasing convenience for SMEs to access government services with a single code.
Dr. Panita Chinawatra, Deputy Director and Acting Director of OSMEP, said this important collaboration with eight partner agencies reflects the government's commitment to drive the grassroots economy and SMEs beyond the limitations of redundant documents and procedures. By integrating data under the SME ONE ID system, this marks a key step in enhancing government services to be faster, more accurate, and more targeted. The nine partner agencies joining this cooperation are:
1) Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion
2) National Statistical Office
3) Department of Medical Sciences
4) Department of Science Service
5) National Science and Technology Development Agency
6) Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research
7) Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization)
8) Office of Creative Economy Promotion (Public Organization)
9) Institute for Safety, Occupational Health and Environment Development (Public Organization)
At the event, besides the cooperation announcement, there was a special session titled "One Thing We Have... and Want to Share," providing a platform for representatives from each agency to exchange resources, knowledge, and introduce service projects aimed at maximizing benefits for entrepreneurs.
The SME ONE ID system, or One Code, One Entrepreneur, is a key mechanism stemming from one of the government’s 12 service agendas under the Cabinet resolution dated 3 August 2021. OSMEP is responsible for this system, which serves as a Digital ID for SMEs that has been verified to a reliable level.
It supports individuals, juristic persons, and community enterprises through a Single Sign-On system, enabling entrepreneurs to conveniently and quickly access e-Services from OSMEP and other government agencies via the channelshttp://bizportal.go.ththe SME Connext application, and other government apps. This initiative has been concretely expanded through partnerships linking entrepreneur databases.
Since the project began, OSMEP has integrated data with 18 government agencies and, in fiscal year 2026, added eight more agencies, totaling 26 linked agencies so far. The goal is to cover 30 agencies by 2027 to establish a new national standard for seamless shared use of entrepreneur data systems.
As of August 2026, over 1,177,030 entrepreneurs have registered with SME ONE ID, including 989,672 juristic persons, 83,082 community enterprises, 78,675 individuals, and 25,601 pre-startup interested parties, reflecting broad growth and acceptance within the business sector.
OSMEP will continue to develop this data infrastructure alongside enhancing security standards to enable government agencies to deliver services and support measures precisely to entrepreneurs, helping reduce costs, boost competitiveness, and drive sustainable, stable growth of Thailand’s economy.
Major Seminar SCB WEALTH organized a Wealth Community event for its Wealth clients titled "Thailand Half-Year Outlook 2026: How Will the Thai Economy Recover in the Second Half?" The event conveyed perspectives on the global and Thai economy for the latter half of 2026. Experts from SCB EIC forecasted global economic growth of 2.5% in 2026, driven by infrastructure investment, AI, and demand for electronics. The Fed is expected to keep interest rates at 3.50–3.75% throughout the year, while the ECB may raise rates once more in September.
The Bank of Japan is likely to maintain its 1% interest rate. Thailand’s economy is projected to grow 2% in 2026, supported by government measures, exports, and private sector investment. However, the recovery is expected to be distinctly K-shaped, with growth concentrated in large businesses and industries related to technology.
These include AI, data centers, electronics, and digital infrastructure, which benefit from investment and certain export sectors. However, many of these businesses rely heavily on imports, limiting positive effects on domestic supply chains, employment, and widespread income.
Meanwhile, household income declined for the first time in six years, purchasing power remains weak, credit access is tight, and the labor market is increasingly fragile. The Monetary Policy Committee is expected to maintain policy rates throughout 2026 to balance inflation pressures with uneven economic recovery.
