Inside the Marketing Circle: ASBGV Reinforces Its Status as a Leading International School in Thailand

Dr. Lakkhana Disyasarin, founder and chairperson of The American School of Bangkok Green Valley (ASBGV), revealed the vision behind building this educational institution over four decades: good education can transform lives, and English is a crucial gateway to the global stage. However, at ASBGV, the perspective extends beyond academic rigor and high test scores.

Our mission is to develop Global Citizens who possess analytical thinking, powerful communication, leadership, moral integrity, and mindfulness, enabling them to grow holistically and adapt to an ever-changing world.

Over the years, ASBGV has not only proven excellence within Thailand but has also earned international recognition. Dr. Lakkhana Disyasarin has received numerous prestigious awards, including Woman of the Year in Educational Administration, Quality Person of the Year, Asia Pacific Woman Golf Entrepreneur of the Year, and was named among the Top 100 Leaders in Education by the Global Forum for Education and Learning (GFEL). The school itself has been honored as one of the 50 best schools worldwide. These accolades reflect the faculty’s commitment to advancing education and creating new opportunities for youth.

Most recently, in September 2026, Dr. Lakkhana was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame at Oklahoma State University, USA, affirming that ASBGV, which began as a small kindergarten in 1983, has proudly risen to the global educational stage.

"Our greatest pride over 43 years is not merely awards or reputation, but seeing our alumni grow into valuable professionals—doctors, engineers, scientists, artists, and educational leaders. ASBGV’s success is not confined to graduation day; it is when our graduates live happy, meaningful lives and genuinely contribute to society."

When asked why ASBGV has maintained the trust of Thai and international parents and continues to receive referrals over 43 years, Dr. Lakkhana summarized the school’s distinctiveness: learning amidst nature, with green spaces promoting children’s well-being and brain health. ASBGV believes a good school need not be in a congested city center but must be a happy, safe, and peaceful environment. Surrounded by large trees and greenery, children receive pure oxygen throughout the day, enhancing both physical and mental health, reducing stress, encouraging bold thinking, trying new things, and fully engaging in learning.

This success is concretely demonstrated by the Class of 2026 (Grade 12) students achieving 100% university acceptance from over 250 top global institutions, including Stanford University, Columbia University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCL, NYU, University of Toronto, McGill University, Harvard University, University of Chicago, King’s College London, and University of Melbourne.

The total scholarship value awarded in the 2025-2026 academic year reached USD 90.3 million. Graduates receive scholarships annually, supported by 76 College Board AP Scholar Awards, underscoring the internationally recognized American curriculum standards.

ASBGV uniquely features the International Preparatory Golf Academy (IPGA), an international golf preparatory academy partnered with the global brand TaylorMade Golf. It boasts the most advanced technology and technical equipment in Asia, such as 14 Indoor Golf Simulators and a Short Game practice area.

The academy’s foreign coaches, certified by the PGA, develop students passionate about golf to professional levels alongside their academic studies. Proud achievements include producing world-class golfer Patty Tavatanakit on the LPGA Tour and providing many students with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) sports scholarships to attend top U.S. universities.

Another hallmark of ASBGV is its warm and accessible organizational culture. The school emphasizes making students, teachers, staff, and parents feel that the school is a second home. Administrators and teachers maintain close communication with parents and students.

For expatriate families, students from neighboring countries, and provincial students, ASBGV offers boarding facilities that meet international safety standards, with a dedicated team providing 24-hour support for academics and daily life, fostering a friendly environment that embraces cultural diversity.

Nisanat Thamkaseerattana, Director of ASBGV, described the K-12 curriculum as academically rigorous yet enjoyable for students. The school follows the American Curriculum K-12, focusing on excellence in academics, sports, and arts, alongside mental well-being development, preparing students from Pre-K to Grade 12 to become happy and successful leaders.

The learning design is carefully tailored to developmental stages. Beyond academic excellence, ASBGV pioneers the Mental and Mind Education course within its curriculum, with guidance from Advisor Mr. Hartanto Khun Wan, applying universal principles of Morality, Discipline, and Wisdom to nurture children’s and youth’s minds.

He developed the Research Meditation (RM) course, which plays a crucial role in preventing and addressing stress, depression, and bullying in schools. This fosters a safe community at ASBGV, teaching students to use mindfulness and wisdom to solve life’s challenges. The program has become a knowledge model invited to train educational personnel at the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, leading hospitals, and institutions abroad including in the USA, Europe, and China.

Moreover, to support holistic learning, ASBGV offers world-class facilities, including a large football field, standard swimming pool, indoor and outdoor basketball gyms, music rehearsal rooms and a large orchestra hall, cozy and secure student dormitories, and a new Sports Complex under construction to accommodate various future athletic competitions and training.

Nisanat concluded that the key factor making ASBGV the first choice for parents over 43 years is the happiness of their children and providing a warm, safe school community. The school focuses on developing leaders with both mindfulness and wisdom, believing that a strong moral foundation and gratitude naturally lead to academic excellence and lifelong success.

"At ASBGV, we cultivate students’ happiness and success in academics, sports, and arts, along with leadership grounded in mindfulness and wisdom."

The American School of Bangkok Green Valley (ASBGV), located on Bangna-Trad Road, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province, is now enrolling new students from Pre-K through Grade 12 for the upcoming academic year. The school invites Thai parents, expat families, and parents from neighboring countries to visit and experience the warm, safe, and high-quality learning environment through school tours.
