Mr. Markus Kaufmann, Vice President and Head of Global Medical Education Development at Straumann Group, said Straumann prioritizes education and skill development for dentists to support raising treatment standards. The Straumann Center of Dental Education (CoDE) has the mission to provide patient care at the highest standard and to offer dentists from other places opportunities to learn from real clinical situations through training, seminars, and diverse academic activities.
Currently, the CoDE network has 60 centers across 28 countries worldwide. Establishing a learning center at Bangkok Implant Dentistry Center, Bangkok Hospital, gains recognition at the same level as other leading centers globally. This is a significant step in connecting Thai dentists to Straumann's global educational network, creating opportunities to exchange medical knowledge and experience between Thailand and the international community.
Dr. Boonthida Charoensawas, Director of Bangkok Hospital, stated that the hospital focuses on developing centers of medical excellence in various fields by emphasizing expert medical teams, technology, innovation, and facilities that support both treatment and learning, continuously elevating patient care standards.
Being selected as Thailand's first Straumann Center of Dental Education (CoDE), and the 60th worldwide, reflects Bangkok Hospital's high clinical standards and readiness to serve as a regional learning hub and knowledge exchange center in dentistry, further advancing quality treatment and better patient outcomes.
Dr. Walailak Kiattananakorn, Senior Director of Bangkok Implant Dentistry Center at Bangkok Hospital, said in 2027 the center will launch courses for dentists interested in enhancing implant dentistry skills. These courses combine live surgery demonstrations and hands-on training with patients, allowing dentists to connect clinical knowledge and experience for appropriate application. There are two courses:
1. Digital Pro Arch Workflow Course: A training or continuing education program to learn the full process of implant placement and full-mouth restoration—from data collection and treatment planning to final restoration—to enhance understanding and skills in applying digital workflow for patients needing full jaw rehabilitation.
2. Single Anterior Course: A digital-based implant course for front teeth, covering planning, implant placement, temporary tooth placement, through to final restoration. The goal is to reduce clinical steps to achieve optimal aesthetic results.
