Marketing Roundup: Anri Bakery, Leader in Japanese Craft Pies, Partners with Thai Brands for Global Market

Mr. Sutthipong Sutthinorapan, Chief Executive Officer of Anri Bakery, said Anri Bakery opened its first branch in Thailand in 2015 at Isetan department store in CentralWorld shopping center, featuring its signature Apple Aomori pie made with Santsugaru and Fuji apple varieties directly imported from Aomori Prefecture, Japan.

When Isetan Thailand ceased operations and many Japanese brands withdrew from the market, Anri Bakery chose to stay to continue supporting customers who kept returning. The company overcame previous limitations by integrating technology into production to build a solid foundation while fully maintaining the craft standards trusted by customers. This drive elevated its standards to an international level, leading to stable business growth.

Currently, Anri Bakery has eight branches, including Anri Cafe at CentralWorld, the brand's first flagship café in Asia, covering leading shopping centers such as Central Ladprao, the premium office building The PARQ on Rama 4 Road, and its first overseas branch at Takashimaya department store in Singapore.

Mr. Sutthipong added that entering its 11th year is not just about expanding branch numbers but deepening the brand's DNA. They combine traditional Osaka pie dough craftsmanship with distinctive local Thai ingredients, such as developing croissants filled with Northern Thai sausage (sai ua).

For Anri, fusion is not merely mixing but respecting the original ingredient values and elevating them to new taste experiences. Sai ua, a Northern Thai delicacy, is a highly intricate craft with diverse ingredients and a process passed down through generations. It blends many herbs to create a complex flavor, aroma, and texture. Anri sees sai ua as a regional craft.

Moreover, the brand demonstrated collaboration potential through the 2026 National Mother's Day campaign with Mali Milk, delivering the value of jasmine flowers symbolizing Mother's Day in the form of 0% fat sweetened condensed milk to customers. They also plan to develop new products together focusing on health benefits. This cooperation reflects the company’s intended direction to work with Thai brands that have a long history and quality, sustainable production standards.

Looking toward the new decade, Anri Bakery is open to strategic partnerships with Thai brands and producers to co-develop new products and experiences. They aim to combine the strength of Japanese craft standards with local Thai ingredients to create distinct and sustainable value for both partner brands and Thai products.
