Mr. Weerapol Charoenpanich, Managing Director and Crop Science Business Unit Manager for Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar at Bayer Thailand Co., Ltd., said that properly caring for rice fields at each stage of the growing season is a key factor that helps farmers manage their fields efficiently. The launch of Lecspro
along with the introduction of Vayego, Nativo, and Etiage reflects Bayer’s commitment to providing innovations and knowledge that address weed management in early stages, disease and pest control, and grain quality care before harvest. This is coupled with promoting proper and safe product use to support Thai farmers’ production efficiency and rice quality.
This comprehensive solution ensures strong rice growth from planting to pre-harvest. Rice field care starts from the early post-sowing stage, where weed management is crucial for seedling establishment. Lecspro helps control major rice field weeds comprehensively,
including barnyard grass, goosegrass, broadleaf weeds, cat’s whiskers, and various sedges. It is a cream formula that mixes easily, does not clog nozzles, and works well with drones, reducing application time and the need for repeat spraying. It protects rice plants from reddening or stunting. It can be applied 7–9 days after sowing, with a 500-milliliter product covering 5 rai (about 0.8 hectares).
When the rice reaches the tillering stage (about 25–30 days old), approximately 5–7 days after the first fertilizer application, farmers can consider using Vayego to help control early-stage rice pests such as leaf rollers and stem borers. The 250-milliliter product covers up to 7 rai and is suitable for agricultural drone spraying.
During the booting stage (about 50–60 days old), which is around 5–7 days after the second fertilizer application, rice may face both pests and diseases. Farmers can consider using Vayego to control leaf rollers and stem borers.
Meanwhile, Nativo helps prevent and manage important rice diseases such as sheath blight and leaf blast, depending on field conditions and product label recommendations.
For the pre-harvest period, about 20–25 days before harvest—a critical phase for yield quality—Etiage helps prevent grain discoloration diseases that can affect yield and grain quality. It also helps maintain beautiful, clear grains desired by mills and buyers. The product is a concentrated cream that mixes easily, is convenient to use, and suitable for drone spraying. A 500-milliliter bottle covers up to 8 rai.
Farmers should select products based on the type and level of infestation, field conditions, and timing, strictly follow label instructions, wear personal protective equipment, and choose appropriate spraying techniques, equipment, and nozzles to ensure effective and safe use for users, crops, and surrounding areas.
This activity reflects Bayer’s commitment to working alongside Thai farmers by offering innovations, knowledge, proper product use techniques, and guidance for rice field care throughout the season to support production efficiency, product quality, and sustainability in Thai agriculture under the mission of good health and food security for all.
Health Market Expansion The authentic bird’s nest brand is advancing its role as part of daily self-care. It announced a new communication concept: “You Are a Precious Gem, Care for Yourself Every Day with the Authentic Bird’s Nest Brand,” aiming to elevate modern self-care with deep nourishment and highlighting the advanced FTIR (Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) innovation.
This technology uses infrared light to analyze the molecular structure and composition of substances, reflecting standards and precision in quality control and authenticity verification of bird’s nest products before reaching consumers. The brand also introduced iconic presenter Ann Thongprasom, who conveys the value of choosing the best for oneself daily through a new advertising campaign.
Eco Play Green AIS, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, has opened “AIS SPARK SPACE,” a new community space inspiring learning and creativity on the first floor of the 100th Anniversary Engineering Building. Under the Eco Play Green concept, it connects learning, work, and idea exchange with AIS’s technology and network capabilities, open for use by everyone, not limited to university students and staff.
In this collaboration, AIS provided its communication technology and network capabilities, including 5G-ADVANCED and AIS WiFi services, to support connectivity within the space, facilitating learning, work, and idea exchange. It offers a seamless digital experience, enabling young people to access knowledge, connect ideas, and develop new innovations.
Present at the AIS SPARK SPACE opening were Ms. Saichon Submakudom, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of AIS; Associate Professor Dr. Wittaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University; and Assistant Professor Dr. Surat Kwanmuang, Deputy Dean for Administration (Physical/Corporate Communications/Research) of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Their participation underscores AIS’s commitment to leveraging technology and connectivity to create opportunity spaces and foster collaborative creativity.
