This marks his first meeting as GSB board chairman following the Cabinet's approval of the new GSB board on 9 Dec 2025 GMT+7. A key agenda is the appointment of Songphon Cheewapanyanaroj as the new GSB director, replacing Witai Ratanakorn, who resigned to become Governor of the Bank of Thailand. After the GSB board's endorsement, the proposal will be submitted to the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) to review salary compensation and investigate any complaints or conflicts of interest. If no issues arise, SEPO will forward the matter to the Finance Minister for final approval according to procedures.
Regarding whether Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Akniti Nititanprapas will sign the appointment order, the answer remains pending due to the caretaker government situation. If the appointment is not signed, the GSB director position may remain vacant for about one year until a formal government is established.
Concerning the appointment of Mahattana Amponpisit as the new President of the Government Housing Bank (GHB), Akniti Nititanprapas signed the appointment order on 11 Dec 2025 GMT+7. The GHB will sign the employment contract on 18 Dec 2025 GMT+7, with a term of four years.
