Mr. Lawaron Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Chairman of the Government Lottery Office, revealed plans for the 2026 lottery. For the 1 Feb 2026 draw, the Lottery Office has increased the digital ticket quota by 1 million from 28 million to 29 million, divided into 27 million at the start and an additional 2 million mid-draw. This follows three consecutive draws where all 28 million digital tickets sold out, reflecting growing buyer confidence and a clear shift toward purchasing tickets online.
"Increasing the digital tickets to 29 million for this draw will offer a combined first prize opportunity of up to 174 million baht, breaking the previous record from the last draw where 28 first prizes totaled 168 million baht. For the entire year, there are plans to raise digital tickets via the Pao Tang app to 30 million, potentially increasing the first prize total to 180 million baht. The decision to increase digital tickets closely follows consumer behavior trends."
The physical lottery ticket quota remains at 78 million, but the long-term expectation is for a decline in physical tickets. The Lottery Office plans to encourage traditional physical ticket quota holders to transition to digital sales to promote transparency and address the issue of tickets being sold above 80 baht. As more sellers move to the digital system, the share of physical tickets in the market will gradually decrease naturally.
Additional reporting indicates that the three-digit N3 lottery has gained increasing popularity. After expanding the number of sellers from 4,000–5,000 to 20,000, sales have doubled from about 2 million to over 4 million tickets. Sales currently remain under the 5 million ticket cap, but if purchases consistently reach this ceiling, the Lottery Office is prepared to consider raising the N3 ticket sales quota immediately.
Considering the current potential of 20,000 sellers, if each sells their full quota of 1,350 tickets per draw, N3 ticket sales could reach as high as 22 million tickets. This indicates significant market growth potential to meet public demand and effectively reduce illegal gambling. Currently, the total lottery ticket sales system averages 112 million tickets per draw.
