The Prime Minister said that the questions investors asked were well answered by the Thailand team, increasing investor confidence. Ratings upgrades from the three major credit rating agencies also confirmed Thailand’s readiness and stability.
“All financial institutions investing in Thailand were positive. I think we answered their questions well, boosting their confidence further. They already had a good outlook on our country, as reflected by the ratings from reputable agencies S&P, Moody’s, and Fitch, which serve as stamps confirming Thailand’s readiness and stability,” the Prime Minister said.
Today, as head of government presenting Thailand personally at the Thailand Roadshow, the team was able to provide a much clearer picture of Thailand.
This included answering investor concerns on monetary policy, the stability of the baht exchange rate, government policies, and the energy transition.(Fragment only) Energy transition. Also topics on budget management, household debt, and promotion of domestic and foreign investment, all of which the Thailand team addressed completely, sensing strong investor confidence in Thailand.
“We met not just one group but financial institutions, money and capital markets, and major multinationals like Google and Microsoft, who are ready to invest in Thailand’s advanced technology industries. We discussed not only investment but also training, knowledge transfer in technology, AI, and expertise in technologies that will drive the global industry going forward.”
“They chose Thailand and expressed confidence regarding Data Centers. We told them we are establishing a regulatory committee to ensure fairness, as this business consumes significant energy and water resources. We explained how management will be handled and locations chosen with energy access in mind. We received their feedback, and our committee’s establishment did not cause them to worry or consider moving elsewhere because we assured continued business support,” the Prime Minister said.
Additionally, on 24 September 2026, the Prime Minister’s delegation met with global financial firm Jefferies Group LLC, which organized a forum for the Prime Minister to meet leading US funds.
The Prime Minister stated that the government’s role is to convert “opportunities” into “real businesses” to achieve sustainable Thai economic growth and improve citizens’ lives, inviting investment in Thailand by presenting new opportunities worthy of investor consideration.
For example, new project investors need not build a new business ecosystem from scratch because Thailand has established manufacturing bases, industrial clusters, transportation systems, and networks of producers and suppliers serving global customers, enabling Thailand to serve as a Southeast Asia business hub collaborating with local suppliers to access regional markets.
Thailand also participates in the growing global AI infrastructure supply chain. Increasing demand for data storage, rapid data transmission, stable electricity systems, and infrastructure supporting digital services presents a significant opportunity to attract value-added economic activities into Thailand.
Meanwhile, the Thai economy remains stable, supported by strong foreign exchange reserves and public debt within legal ceilings, maintaining fiscal space to cope with external shocks.
Clear signals of investment interest in Thailand appeared as applications for foreign investment promotion reached1.37 trillion baht in the first half of the year,an 80% rise from the same period last year, reflecting strong business interest and Thailand’s readiness and suitability for investment.
The government welcomes Data Center investments but recognizes energy and water resource impacts, prompting a review of criteria to attract suitable projects for long-term economic benefits.
In closing, the Prime Minister emphasized Thailand’s promising economic opportunities from incoming investments and Thai companies ready to invest. The government’s role is to help transform these opportunities into real businesses for sustainable growth, while openly listening to investor perspectives on greatest opportunities and concerns for frank exchange.

On the same day (24 Sep), Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, advanced Thailand’s economic elevation on the world stage as a witness to the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and participated in the Opening Bell ceremony to promote Thailand’s potential and readiness to global investors. He is the third Thai Prime Minister to take part in this event.
Akkapop Phianpiset, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed that the SET-NYSE partnership enables Thai companies to access global investors and capital, supporting fundraising, business expansion, and cross-border investment. It also allows foreign investors to recognize Thai companies’ and new industries’ potential, attracting capital, technology, and new investments into Thailand.
The Prime Minister views this MOU as more than a pact between two stock exchanges; it reflects the strong and growing economic ties between Thailand and the United States and brings their capital markets closer.
With the US as one of Thailand’s most important economic partners and New York as a global financial hub, enhanced cooperation between NYSE and SET will create new opportunities for companies and investors in both countries, strengthen market linkages, and promote more cross-border investment. Today’s signing marks a significant step in realizing this potential as concrete collaboration.
“The Prime Minister aims to turn global investor interest into real economic opportunities, including investment, business expansion, and job creation, to benefit the Thai people,” Akkapop stated.
Also on 24 September, the Stock Exchange of Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), witnessed by the Prime Minister.
The collaboration will establish a framework for joint operations in securities listings on both markets (Dual Listing) as well as product and index development.
Assadech Kongsiri, Director and Manager of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), said the MOU covers cooperation in five areas:
“This collaboration will connect businesses and investors between Thailand and the US, increase fundraising options for Thai listed companies, create opportunities to access institutional investors and capital in leading global markets, and allow global investors greater access to Thai investments. It will also enhance fundraising channels for foreign companies investing in Thailand, aligning with the BOI to IPO program,” Assadech said.
This cooperation reflects the Stock Exchange’s commitment to enhancing competitiveness and linking the Thai capital market with new opportunities under the vision of being ‘The Trusted Gateway to Inclusive Opportunities.’
(Fragment only) On the side, Will Goodwin, Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer at the New York Stock Exchange, said NYSE values its long-standing strong relationship with the Stock Exchange of Thailand. This MOU is another important step to strengthen collaboration, create new opportunities for issuers and investors, and they look forward to working closely with SET to support long-term growth of the Thai capital market.
NYSE and SET have cooperated since 1992, initially on market regulation, with continuous development over more than three decades leading to this expanded cooperation.
