After Siam Commercial Bank transitioned to building its flagship entity, the SCBX Group, it restructured various aspects aiming to become "more than a bank," diversifying into multiple business segments believed to enhance operational agility.
Earlier in 2026, SCBX Group announced that Kris Chanthonok had completed his term and would not renew his contract with the company, prompting widespread attention on who would succeed him, given the critical importance of Siam Commercial Bank's business.
Today (4 Mar 2026), SCBX Group announced its resolution to appoint Sarach Ratanaporn as the new Chief Executive Officer of Siam Commercial Bank. He will assume the position on 1 May 2026.
Previously, since 2022, Sarach Ratanaporn has served as CEO of CardX Company Limited, a credit card business formerly part of Siam Commercial Bank. He has had a strong tenure at Siam Commercial Bank, holding several senior executive roles, including General Manager, Head of Personal Banking, Head of Branch Network (2017–2019), and Head of Corporate Segment (2016–2017).
Sarach has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, covering money markets, capital markets, retail customer management, and corporate clients, gaining exposure to both domestic and international organizational environments.
Regarding his education, Sarach holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Boston University in the United States, providing him with a solid foundation in strategy, financial analysis, and macroeconomic perspectives.
Going forward, it will be important to observe how Sarach will lead Siam Commercial Bank's next phase. Meanwhile, SCBX Group is preparing for a major leadership transition in 2027, when Dr. Arak Sutheewong will succeed current CEO Arthit Nanthawit.
Note: SCBX Group stated that a suitable candidate for the CEO position at CardX Company Limited has been selected and is currently under review for approval.
