Whenever Forbes publishes the list of Thailand’s billionaires, many focus on who is the wealthiest. In 2026, the ranking also included the "wealthiest woman in Thailand," a title awarded to a female entrepreneur from a quietly growing loan business over several years.
She is "Daonapa Patcharacha," the largest shareholder with about 33.96% of Muangthai Capital Public Company Limited (MTC), a major credit company with a market value exceeding 70 billion baht.
What lies behind MTC’s success in building a large loan empire? And why do all 17 brokerage analysts unanimously recommend "Buy" for this company’s shares?
Thairath Money will explore the business model and growth factors driving this company’s performance.
While commercial banks serve general customers, MTC is one of the loan providers reaching grassroots workers at the community level, with branches spread nationwide.
MTC’s business model covers financial services including:
MTC’s revenue structure is almost entirely from “interest,” as reflected in the Q1 2026 financial report showing total revenue of 7,937 million baht, with interest income reaching 7,756 million baht, nearly 98% of total revenue.
Meanwhile, fee and service income amounted to 148 million baht, with other income at 33 million baht.
Interestingly, despite economic volatility, MTC’s past performance has shown steady growth.
Additionally, in Q1 2026, MTC’s total loan portfolio reached 183,986 million baht, with a branch network expanded to over 8,754 nationwide, while maintaining asset quality with an NPL ratio at 2.57%.
Examining MTC’s stock price movements reveals past concerns over non-performing loans (NPL) and economic pressures on the microloan sector, but recent strong profit growth signals recovery.

However, MTC’s actual financial figures for revenue and profit have attracted significant attention from capital market analysts.
According to the Investment Analysts Association (IAA Consensus), 17 brokerage analysts have covered MTC, all unanimously recommending "Buy," with no hold or sell ratings.
They set an average target price of 41.53 baht, with the highest at 55.00 baht and the lowest at 35.80 baht, indicating upside potential from the current price.
Krungsri Securities summarized three key positive factors as follows:
1. Profit is expected to hit new records, with Q2 2026 profit forecast at 1,880 million baht (+14% YoY, +3% QoQ), driven by branch expansion and growth in secured loans.
2. Net Interest Margin (NIM) is expected to improve to 13.68%, as funding costs decline following policy interest rate cuts.
3. Valuation has largely absorbed negative news; MTC currently trades at a forward P/BV of about 1.5 times, equivalent to -1.5 standard deviations below historical averages, indicating the stock price already reflects asset quality risks.
Ultimately, MTC’s success not only elevated "Daonapa Patcharacha" as Thailand’s wealthiest woman but also demonstrates that businesses understanding customer needs and managing risk efficiently can thrive even amid economic uncertainty.
Nevertheless, despite unanimous "Buy" recommendations and perceived upside, investing carries risk, and investors should study fundamentals, financial performance, and their own risk tolerance before making decisions.
