The Thai stock market in 2026 has become lively again as the SET Index surged nearly 30% since early this year, marking a standout recovery compared to other regional markets. The key driver behind this rebound is foreign investors, who have turned into major net buyers this year.
Trading data by investor group from 5 January to 21 September 2026 shows foreign investors have net bought over 55.68 billion baht, contrasting with domestic institutional investors who continue to net sell more than 80.5 billion baht. Meanwhile, securities company accounts net bought 3.05 billion baht and domestic retail investors net bought 21.77 billion baht.
A deeper look at individual stocks via NVDR data reveals 10 standout stocks with the highest net foreign buying since early this year, totaling over 143.6 billion baht. The energy and banking sectors remain highly favored among investors.
