Meta Finds Revenue Model from AI? Muse Boosts Shares Over 30% as Investors Eye New AI Agent Business

Meta Platforms (META) is back as one of the most talked-about technology stocks in the U.S. market following the launch of Muse Personal AI Agent, the first under the leadership of Alexandr Wang, who took charge of Meta's AI division last year. Meanwhile, the event  Meta Connect 2026 further confirmed the company's direction in integrating AI Agents, AI Glasses, and wearable devices. Speculative momentum is reflected in Meta's share price, which has risen sharply; from early September to 24 September, shares increased by more than 30%, according to reported data. On 21 September alone, the stock surged 11.3% to close at $741.25, boosting the company's market value by approximately $192 billion in one day.

The turning point came with the launch of "Muse AI Agent," Meta's personal AI assistant introduced on 8 September. Unlike typical chatbots, it can perform multi-step tasks on behalf of users, such as sending emails, booking travel, filling out forms, managing emails, and even conducting certain transactions.

After its launch, Muse topped the free app charts on the App Store in the U.S. and Canada. Data from Sensor Tower shows Muse was downloaded about 2.8 million times in its first two weeks, including 1.8 million downloads in the first 12 days—surpassing ChatGPT's 1.3 million downloads over the same period.

For investors, these figures signal that Meta might be developing a Consumer AI with potential to expand to new platforms. Previously, the market questioned how Meta would convert its massive AI investments into revenue and returns. Muse offers a more tangible example of Meta's AI becoming a product consumers directly use, with its own revenue channels.

Analysts suggest that if Muse expands into the high-value Enterprise AI market, the impact on Meta could be significant—especially by opening new revenue streams from advertising, subscriptions, and transaction fees, linking to a multi-trillion-dollar market.

At the recent Meta Connect 2026 event,

Mark Zuckerberg unveiled several new AI Agent-powered hardware products, including

Ray-Ban Meta and new Meta VR Glasses,

all integrated directly with Muse, extending the AI Agent beyond smartphone screens. One highlight was the new Meta VR Glasses, which aim to condense the VR experience into lightweight glasses weighing only 100 grams—lighter than previous Quest models—priced at $1,299 and scheduled for release in 2027. Also introduced was the

The surge in Meta's stock is not just excitement over new products, but reflects expectations for future revenue generation. J.P. Morgan notes that Muse has the potential to become the most widely used Consumer AI since ChatGPT, supported by the product's capabilities, Meta's vast user base, and initial free access. Jefferies estimates that if Muse reaches 1 billion users by the end of 2027, with at least 3% converting to paid services, annual revenue could hit $10.8 billion, leading to a Meta stock price target of $875.

Truist Securities projects Muse's revenue potential could reach at least $28.5 billion annually by 2030, assuming user base and revenue models meet expectations.

Bank of America maintains a Buy rating with a $810 price target, citing early positive reception of Muse's multi-step task capabilities with minimal user intervention, boosting confidence in Meta's AI direction.

Evercore ISI also holds a positive outlook; analyst Mark Mahaney sees Muse as tangible evidence that Meta's massive AI investments may start transforming into products that drive usage and new revenue.

Creating new assets for Meta,

Meta successfully presents a unified ecosystem of AI Agent + AI Model + Hardware + Commerce. For example, Shopify announced using Muse for payment processing, PayPal enables users to search for products and complete purchases via AI Agent, and Stripe is integrating with Meta's system.

Another market driver is that greater Muse adoption will demand massive computing power to support real-time, multi-step AI Agent operations, linking Muse's momentum to AI infrastructure and semiconductor stocks.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index has risen about 7% since Muse's launch, with NVIDIA and AMD among the beneficiaries.

Thus, Meta's September developments may represent more than just a product launch rally; they indicate the market beginning to value Meta's new AI business potential, addressing prior investor skepticism about monetizing AI investments.

However, early download figures are only initial user acceptance signals; Muse's revenue generation still requires time to prove, and analysts hold widely varying assumptions about the product's long-term potential.
