Krungsri announced its financial results for the first half of 2026, reporting a net profit of 16.9 billion baht, a 6.8% year-on-year growth driven by a large corporate loan portfolio while maintaining strict and cautious risk management.
Kenichi Yamato, President and CEO of Bank of Ayudhya (Krungsri) (BAY). He disclosed that the bank’s net profit for the first half of 2026 reached 16.9 billion baht, up 6.8% compared to the same period last year (YoY), supported by growth in large corporate loans, net fee and service income, and effective management of financial costs and operating expenses.
In the first half of 2026, the bank’s loans continued to grow steadily both domestically and in ASEAN, especially among large corporate clients covering supply chains benefiting from growth in AI technology and the electronics industry, as well as ASEAN customers, which grew by 6.0% and 5.1% respectively from December 2025.
Meanwhile, the net interest margin (NIM) rose to 4.60% from 4.14% in the first half of 2025, driven by higher loan yields, mainly supported by the consolidation of TIDLOR’s loan portfolio and ongoing business growth in ASEAN.
“For the remainder of the year, Thailand’s economic growth outlook remains limited despite short-term support from government stimulus measures. The economy faces several downside risks including: (1) energy price volatility due to Middle East tensions; (2) risks from U.S. trade policies; (3) challenges from slowing private consumption after the end of the “Thai Chuey Thai Plus” program; (4) impacts of El Niño conditions; and (5) structural constraints in Thailand’s economy. Against this backdrop, Krungsri forecasts Thailand’s economic growth at 1.9% for 2026, down from 2.4% in 2025,” Kenichi said.
