Check Now! Paying Taxes in 2026: Installments with Revenue Department vs. Credit Cards — Which Earns Points and Has No Interest?

Many may have just received their withholding tax certificates (Por Ngor Dor 50), signaling it's time to file personal income tax. For those who owe a large sum but want to maintain liquidity, did you know you can "installment pay" your tax without interest? Some credit cards also offer reward points. Today, Thairath Money has gathered information and tips to make your tax payment more advantageous.

Option 1: 0% Installments for 3 Months with the Revenue Department

If you have filed your return and your tax due is 3,000 baht or more, the Revenue Department offers a choice to split payment into three installments without interest (0% per annum). For example, if you owe 6,000 baht, it will be evenly divided into 2,000 baht per month.

If you want to pay in installments with the Revenue Department, after filling in your information online and reaching the "Review Information" page—which details your income and other information—scroll down to the "Tax Calculation" section summarizing your tax due. Below that, you'll find the "Tax Installment Payment" option. Simply select the "Yes" option.

For those filing online, the total amount will be divided into three installments, which must be paid on time as follows:

Installment 1: Pay by 8 Apr (the final day for online tax filing)

Installment 2: Pay by 8 May.

Installment 3: Pay by 8 Jun.

If you miss a payment, you will lose the installment option and must pay the full outstanding tax immediately, plus a penalty interest of 1.5% per month. on the remaining unpaid tax.

Option 2: Credit Cards

In 2026, five banks allow tax payments via credit card with no fees. Some cards offer 0% interest installment plans, while others provide credit card reward points.

  • Bangkok Bank Credit Card Allows tax payments with no service or transaction fees.
  • ttb (TMBThanachart Bank) Credit Card Allows tax payments with no service or transaction fees.
  • KTC Credit Card from Krungthai Bank Promotion runs from 5 Jan to 8 Apr 2026: Pay taxes with KTC cards with no fees during this period; a fee up to 1% applies from 9 Apr 2026 onward.
  • Kasikorn Bank Credit Card Promotion from 5 Jan to 30 Apr 2026.
    - Waives service fees for tax payments via card, normally 1%.
    - Offers installment payments through K PLUS for full tax payments of at least 10,000 baht, with two options:
3-month installments at 0% interest per month.
6 or 10-month installments at 0.49% interest per month.
    - Earn up to 5,200 K Points per person when paying in installments (registration before payment recommended).
For 3-month installments, earn 100 bonus K Points per 10,000 baht spent.
For 6 or 10-month installments, earn 400 bonus K Points per 10,000 baht spent.
  • Siam Commercial Bank Credit Card (and CardX) Allows tax payments with no service fee, but no reward points or cashback. Installment payments carry interest at 0.59% per month for 4, 6, or 10 months. A minimum installment amount of 2,000 baht per transaction applies.

Thus, if you use a credit card to pay 2026 taxes, you can extend your payment period somewhat. If you want a 3-month interest-free installment, you can pay directly with the Revenue Department or with Kasikorn Bank credit cards, which charge 0% interest. However, remember that if you choose installments, you must pay each installment on time to avoid losing money due to interest and penalties.
