Check Now! Paying Taxes in 2026: Installments with Revenue Department vs. Credit Cards – Which Earns Points Without Interest?

Many may have just received the withholding tax certificate (Por Ngor 50), signaling it's time to file personal income tax. For those facing large tax bills but wanting to maintain liquidity, did you know you can pay your taxes in interest-free installments? Some credit cards also offer reward points. Today, Thairath Money has gathered information and tips to help you pay taxes more advantageously.

Option 1: 0% interest installments over 3 months with the Revenue Department.

If you have filed your tax return and have a tax payment amount of 3,000 baht or more, the Revenue Department offers the option to split the payment into three installments with zero interest (0% per annum). For example, if you owe 6,000 baht, it will be divided equally into 2,000 baht per month.

If you want to pay in installments with the Revenue Department, after filling out the online form and reaching the "Review Information" page, which summarizes your income details and more, scroll down to the "Tax Calculation" section showing the total tax due. Below that is the "Tax Installment Payment" section, where you select "Want to pay in installments."

For those filing taxes online, the total amount will be divided into three installments, which must be paid on time as follows:

1st installment: Pay by 8 Apr (the last day for online tax filing).

2nd installment: Pay by 8 May.

3rd installment: Pay by 8 Jun.

If you miss a payment, you will lose the right to pay in installments and must pay the full outstanding tax amount immediately, plus a penalty interest of 1.5% per month. on the outstanding tax balance.

Option 2: Credit Cards.

In 2026, five banks allow tax payments via credit card without fees. Some cards offer 0% interest installment plans and even reward points.

  • Bangkok Bank credit cards can be used to pay taxes without fees or service charges.
  • ttb (TMBThanachart Bank) credit cards also allow tax payments without fees or service charges.
  • KTC credit cards from Krungthai Bank have a promotion from 5 Jan to 8 Apr 2026, allowing fee-free tax payments. From 9 Apr 2026 onward, fees will not exceed 1%.
  • Kasikorn Bank credit cards offer a promotion from 5 Jan to 30 Apr 2026,
    - Waiving the usual 1% service charge for tax payments via credit card.
    - Allow installment payments through K PLUS for full tax payments of at least 10,000 baht, with two options:
    3-month 0% interest installments,
or 6- or 10-month installments at 0.49% interest per month.
    - Earn up to 5,200 K Point rewards per person when paying by installments (registration before payment is recommended).
For 3-month installments, earn 100 bonus K Points per 10,000 baht.
For 6- or 10-month installments, earn 400 bonus K Points per 10,000 baht.
  • Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) credit cards (and CardX) allow tax payments without fees but do not offer reward points or cashback. Installment payments are available with 0.59% monthly interest for 4, 6, or 10 months. The minimum installment amount per transaction is 2,000 baht.

Based on this information, those paying taxes in 2026 via credit cards can extend their payment period. If you want 3-month installments, you can choose either the Revenue Department’s plan or Kasikorn Bank’s 0% interest offer. However, remember that if you choose installments, payments must be timely to avoid losses from interest and penalties.
