At the wedding ceremony of Ploy Horwang and Tae from Three Man Down on 22 Apr, Ohm Cocktail attended as a senior relative of the groom’s side and spoke about financial philosophy as the head of a family.
He said, “I want to mention a moment from when I just walked through the door. I was interested when Khun Chris talked about why, if the envelope is so tight, how could he take care of his sister? Actually, this man’s habit of giving a tight envelope shows careful money use. Thoughtful money management is the hallmark of a good family head—not reckless spending but always negotiating for the family's benefit.”
The video was shared online and sparked diverse discussions about the financial mindset of family heads.
Ohm Cocktail is a well-known figure who has shared his financial ideas many times, making him a role model in money management.
At the Thairath Money Campus Tour 2025, Seasons 1 and 2, Ohm appeared as a “celebrity with good investment” to share financial stories with students at Chulalongkorn and Thammasat Universities.
At Chulalongkorn University, Ohm shared his experiences from student days to early working life. He revealed a turning point in his second university year when he almost got retired (expelled), realizing that if it happened, his parents’ tuition money would be wasted immediately.
That event made him realize the importance of earning and managing money. Later, he shared about working life starting as a teacher earning a modest salary. At that time, he didn’t focus on managing money but was determined to find ways to increase income.
He referred to his definition of a financial pyramid consisting of four parts from bottom to top: income, expenses, risk, and taxes.
At the start of his career, Ohm focused on the base—income—considering it the most crucial part. He believed the base must be strong before progressing upward and advised students to seize this period to earn and enjoy making money.
Later in life, Ohm shifted career paths toward music and becoming an artist. Although seen by many as a successful artist, he often spoke about uncertainties in every career, encouraging understanding of risks and managing personal resources wisely.
At the end of his talk, Ohm advised, “Life should be about spending money with joy.” Having the ability to spend for happiness without relying on others and avoiding endless stress over earning money is the key to financial life balance.
At Thammasat University, Ohm shared his financial mindset as both artist and executive, explaining that income earned in a personal name is often misunderstood as total income, while part of that money is actually expenses.
He established a legal entity called Cheer Cocktail Company Limited to act as a middleman for financial management.
The company receives income and deducts band expenses (such as music production, studio rental, travel costs) before members receive dividends.
This method helps the band manage taxes correctly and avoid tax burdens on amounts that are not actual income.
He also offered insights on business, a popular income path for young people. Ohm said that understanding the nature of the business is crucial; don’t make money the primary focus. If working in entertainment, concentrate on music quality and output. Fame and success will naturally bring income. If you think, "I make music for money," you might overlook fundamental factors.
“If you can’t manage money, you will lack even the basics,” part of Ohm Cocktail’s interview on Thairath Money’s Money Secret program.
He revealed his perspectives on money ranging from when he became interested in investing, the origin of the Cocktail band’s fund, to his retirement outlook.
Notably, Ohm’s retirement vision, rarely spoken of elsewhere, shows him as someone prepared for retirement, reasoning that even if he doesn’t want to retire, he might be forced to someday.
He added that throughout his career as an artist, he witnessed the band’s growth curve, both peaks and troughs, making him aware that trends will eventually fade. This motivated him to maintain consistent financial discipline.
He concluded the program by saying his money secret is honesty—being truthful with oneself about life and financial goals and how to reach them without relying on others.
From Ohm Cocktail’s interview, he is not just a celebrity sharing experiences; he reflects a 40-year-old Thai man with solid financial knowledge, understanding risks, protecting wealth, applying knowledge daily, and sharing it with others.
